As actual writing, or to read about? I always thought it was funny that her description of "Caught in the Middle" to Mr. D sounds so much like a pitch--but seriously, it sounds like a pretty standard middle grade Apple paperbacks book. As opposed to "The Early Years" which is hilariously tragic (poor, poor Valerie!) or tragically hilarious.
If Mallory were eleven in the age of the interwebs, she would totally write fanfiction with Mary Sue characters who are allowed to wear sparkles and contact lenses. And then by the time she was fourteen she'd write really ridiculous smut. (Er, not about horse stories, though. Even I can't deal with that.)

I vote for "Rainy Days and Froggy Nights." A story about a frog in a rainstorm. Sounds like a page-turner!

I'd like to see her story about the mice from "New York, New York." I bet the sketches were adorable.

Yeah the mice one sounded cute, but I couldn't remember the title or names of the mice, or I would have mentioned it. I think it reminded me a little bit of city mouse and country mouse.

I'm not sure if it had a title but I do know the names of the mice were Ryan and Meghan.

^I think she titled the illustration "Field Mice in Deep Trouble," but I don't know if the story had an actual title.
I imagine them looking kind of like the mice in Angelina Ballerina but plumper.

I'm just done snarking Mallory on Strike and Caught in the Middle reminds me of Karen's Little Sister for some reason.

The story about the mice in New York City sounds really good. I'm not being snarky at all. I like children's books like that. If Mallory were eleven in the age of the interwebs, she would totally write fanfiction with Mary Sue characters who are allowed to wear sparkles and contact lenses. And then by the time she was fourteen she'd write really ridiculous smut. (Er, not about horse stories, though. Even I can't deal with that.) People were writing fanfiction long before the internet came around. They just didn't publish it (except for fanzines for things like Star Trek). I was one of them. Maybe Mallory did write Mary Sue fanfic.

It is a very cute title, I've always liked it too. What was the plot?

I just realized her froggy nights title sounds similar to Henrietta Hayes frog pond play title, but don't tell mallory or she'll build a tent outside her favourite author's place
