So I'm reading Kristy's portrait, and a main plot point involves the fact that Patrick gets his lefty daughter a right armed baseball catcher's mitt.
Anyone is suprised Kristy is a lefty? I always thought that Claudia or Abby would be a lefty.

^ Yeah, I was a little suprised to read that. But i've heard lefty's are supposed to be Creative, which Kirsty is pretty Creative, with all of her ideas and such.

I'm pretty sure Kristy's left-handedness is mentioned several times in the series...can't recall which books though.

^I thought so, too. But I'm not sure which books, either. Also it might be mentioned in the Complete Guide.

You'd think it would be one of those things that would show up in the Chapter 2s.

^Definitely. I don't remember Kristy's left-handedness ever being mentioned, but I'm right handed so I don't really care about that stuff. Lefties seem to want to sniff out other lefties.

I think the left-handedness would be sort of an awkward thing to include in her description...like, how would that be brought up? Comparing her with her right-handed best friend Mary Anne?

^I think it would be pretty easy to slip into her regular description. Like "Kristy is a leftie, and boy does she fit the description of a south-paw. Blah, blah blah..."
I googled characteristics of Left-handers and found this. Kristy is a pretty stereo-typical leftie. I wonder if that was intentional.

I can imagine it showing up in the differences listed between MA and Kristy.

That's actually pretty funny that there was no 'outspoken lefty' in the BSC. it totally seems like something they would care about and talk about a lot. Kristy: "I thought of that. Prolly cause I'm a lefty!" or they would organize some lefty-day or a lefthanded kid would have trouble using... scissors or whatever and then Kristy could help him/her accepting their left handedness and explaining it to his/her parents and taking the kid out shopping for left handed scissors and whatnot
(if it seems like I'm getting too excited about this, it's probably because I am left handed myself ;D)

Kristy's a lefty?! Whoa... I didn't know that! yes, if you're wondering, I haven't read any of the Portrait books yet. That's pretty surprising. For some reason, I just assumed that all of the BSC members were right-handed.

I can also see it showing up as another difference between Kristy and Mary Anne.

wow .. I didn't expect that Kristy is a lefty. By the way , what kind of father does not knowhe features of her daughter? I pretty hate Patrick for that .

I seem to remember reading that Kristy was a lefty (because I think I said, "huh, so is Bart Simpson"). I'm not surprised.
I always wished I was left-handed because it's less common. When I was in junior high, I tried to train myself to be ambidextrous, lol.

This is slightly off topic, and I'm not alluding to the rumours that Kristy is gay, but did you know that most gay people are left handed?
