Play mobil is the best, Afton loved playing with those too. She had all the western stuff and the horse barn, trailer, etc. She had a great time with them. We still have all of her playmobil stuff too.

Alnmom, hug and that's sweet/cool that you kept Afton's playmobil stuff. I just had the kids, a few "older" (bigger) figures and then I think the playground set and a treehouse. I used to also use my Lego King's Castle as a "set" for the playmobil kids that and lol an egg carton for their seats at school. Kylie, store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site It takes awhile to load but will give you an idea. Mona

It looks like the series is being reissued since The Truth About Stacey is being released on June 1, 2010.

xxevereverafter posted a link to an article about the re-releases in the new book thread, but in case anyone missed it there were a few interesting things in it that we've questioned in this thread. So the first five are planned on being released. I always think of Dawn as an original member anyway. They're going to update the fashions. Stacey has "an expensive hairstyle". That's really lame, lol, and could mean anything.

If they're going to update the series, I'm glad they're changing the outdated terms to generationally-neutral terms (ie I'm glad they're changing "cassette player" to "headphones" instead of changing it to "ipod").

^That is something I am glad for as well. If they are going to change anything, at least they are keeping it neutral.

^I agree. I don't want them to change anything, period, but keeping the terms more neutral is better than making huge changes.

I'd rather them not change anything, but keeping it neutral is better than going overboard and changing every outdated term in the book. I'm cracking up at Stacey's "expensive hairstyle" though haha. Are we left to assume that her hair is anything but permed then? Because that's so broad. Anyway, I'm already picturing how that will sound in a Chapter 2 lol ;D. If they're updating the fashions, that's a bit sad because now all of Claudia's clothes are going to be different, they're all outdated .

if they do change claudia's outfits to something trendy now, it would be so funny to go back in 20 years and say "eww.. what was she thinking?"

I think Stacey's clothes might be a bigger deal for trendiness, because Claud's were so out- there even then.

I'm curious about what they're going to change. Like a lot of you, I'm not in love with them modernising the books, even though I can understand why Scholastic thinks it's necessary to do so. I do like the idea of a BSC 2.0 spinoff, though! Or, if they wanted a teen series, age the girls up a year or two so they're still baby-sitting, but are dealing with teen issues. I don't think it would be that much of a stretch since they always acted much older than 11 & 13! ;D
