i always thought the font thing was completely unrealistic anyway. like jessi's? she's freakin 11 and has better hand-writting than most teachers. mine sure didn't look like that when i was 11... still doesnt. honestly, that'd probably be the only change i'd want ahaha... cause it really bugged me a LOT, even as a kid. not that it was hard to read (well, sometimes. i'd stip jessi and mary anne's a lot) but UNREALISTIC. ugh.

True, Jessi's is probably the most unrealistic. I think MA's was okay, even though it was quite nice, some teens do have really nice handwriting. Elevn, I'm not so sure :/

I remember at 11 my homeroom teacher put that I had excellent handwriting on my report card I even knew boys that had better handwriting than girls at that age. But Jessi's cursive was pretty crazy...so perfect and flowery. I still find it hard to read!

Jessi's handwriting was atrocious to decipher. I hated how she took up so much space in SM #4. I was told as a kid that when I took my time I had nice handwriting. These days, since computers, lol, it's all downhill! I have to admit I often find a hand written note or card to be more meaningful than an email or typed one. Just the thought and probably because it invokes memory of my beloved late Grandma who had abosultely gorgeous handwriting. Lol, unlike, me, her granddaughter.

If the series gets reissued, I don't want any modernizing. I would prefer everything to be left just as it is - 80's outfits, no cell phones, Janine's green-glowing computer monitor, even the inconsistencies.

I had pretty decent handwriting at 11, but Jessi's just seemed...too..perfect.

If they want to re release the series, that is fine with me, but I don't want too much if any modernizing. I felt that once they started introducing more modern elements in the series it didn't feel like the same series I grew up with any more.

I'll be interesting to see what they do. Although I hope they don't bring ipods in. (because that wouldn't be right, of course cell phones and computers were used in the 80s although not as common as they are now, but they did exist back then.)

If they want to have a modern series for today's girls/tweens they might as well do another spin-off.

My thoughts exactly. If they want to have a modern series for today's girls/tweens they might as well do another spin-off. What about Baby-Sitters Club - The Next Generation? They could have Karen at age 13 which would put Kristy and the other girls (well the 8th graders anyway) in college. Then you could really explore how to apply the BSC concept to today's technology.

^I would read it too, it might be interesting to see what Karen would be like at age 13.

OMG!!! I wanted to come and say hi to you guys but I realized my bookmark was gone because it had been several reinstallations of Firefox since I last visited. Then when I tried Googling "baby-sitters club proboards" a suggested search was "baby-sitters club prequel," which was crazy enough. And now I come here and find out that (at least two of) the books are being rereleased?! INSANE. On the subject of modifications to the original text...I'd have to say I hope there aren't any. I imagine fixing little things to possibly result in horrible butterfly effectish changes to major plot points, which would completely ruin my life. Then again, the fact that it's already available in "other editions" makes me think that there probably won't be any changes? The reviews are entertaining: Thanks, A Customer, I guess now we know who to blame for Mary Anne's dibble house being burned to the ground. I do enjoy that the Amazon page for the new Kristy's Great Idea includes "Jim Bartolini" as a key phrase. Hee. ETA: Ooh, depressing review: I was going to comment on it with something to the effect of "Kids these days!" but then I noticed that review was left when I was actually in the seventh grade
