Haha ^ IF we ever found out who did it I just thought of something. The book is about the summer BEFORE the BSC, but in the promo I think it say the story is about the trials and tribulations of being 12 and 13? Were any of the members 13 when the series begun?

No, because isn't it Sept of 7th grade when the series begins? Of course they don't pay attention to this (except in Logan Likes Mary Anne), but Stacey would have turned 13 in April of 7th grade, Claudia in July after 7th grade, Kristy in August, and Mary Anne in Sept of 8th grade (which she does in #10). So yeah, Stacey is the oldest and she isn't 13 until spring.

Even if this isn't true, I wonder if Ann realizes she's sitting on a gold mine. Her target audience is all grown up now with their own money to spend. ;D
Someone up thread wondered if this would be classified as a children's or young adult book. I really wish it would be a bit darker than the BSC. I've read Slam Book enough times to know Ann can write disturbing things when she wants to.

A thought: Do you think when we sent Ann the letter about Afton she maybe did a little looking and realised how big the online community is?
I am def pre-ordering it, although, it probably won't get to me for two weeks. Maybe I'll wait and see if they sell it here first.

Maybe no mention on the scholastic website because April's still a long way from now? Ann herself tends to post letters on her site about new books like a month or two in advance of their release.

I hope someone at Amazon isn't running some elaborate April Fools joke. ;D
But, yeah, I'll be so excited if it's true! It seems legit...

I think this is legit. As soon as I read this thread I hopped on BWI Titletales, which is a vendor that public libraries (mine included) use to order books for their collections. The book IS listed there with a release date of April 2010. So I'm going to say that this is real.
I'm freaking out with excitement!!!

A thought: Do you think when we sent Ann the letter about Afton she maybe did a little looking and realised how big the online community is? I was wondering the same thing. Was she planning this for awhile but was going to have it be a surprise? (It will have been 10 years in 2010 since Graduation Day.) Or did we have something to do with her writing this? I know she was made aware of the boards and the BSC community after Afton's death with the letter one of our members wrote to her (that she responded to!). Did that give her a push to write it for us that are still out there and faithful BSC readers after all these years? I'm dying to see if she puts in a forward or an afterword in the book...which I'm pretty sure she will.

I can't believe how excited I am about this! It didn't even cross my mind that it might be fake. My birthday is on April 12th, and you can probably guess what's going on my list this year. Do you guys know how long it's been since I've asked for a BSC book for my birthday???

I know I'm jumping the gun a little, but that would be pretty amazing if she did! ;D I really hope that we get to see the Watson-Elizabeth relationship develop. They were dating long enough to get engaged in the first book, so it would be fun to see them as a new couple (and maybe I'm asking for too much, but....perhaps get a bit more insight on the Watson-Lisa divorce??). And seeing pre-stroke Mimi again will be great. I'm getting way too excited for this book!
