Stacey's Broken Heart:
1. Stacey was friends with Andi and she was not part of the whole U4Me concert where her friends started drinking and got Stacey in trouble. She liked Andi fine in that book.
2. Had there been any foreshadowing of Andi/Robert or Robert wanting to break up with Stacey? I don't think there was.
3. It sure is convenient that Stacey finds a new boyfriend just as she finds out that Robert is going out with Andi.

^ For your second point, I think Stacey was supposed to be somewhat of a pain/jealous clingly girl towards Robert in Aloha, BSC, which would foreshadow Robert wanting to break up with her.

Tiffany doesn't seem like she would really enjoy baby-sitting even if a book or two claimed she had done some.

Kristy’s Worst Idea
1. The whole fall into fall festival block party thing that Kristy tried planning
2. How Claudia’s family left their family BBQ, so Claudia could be at the meeting. (The Kishi parents would never do that!)
3. Mary Anne and Claudia’s fight. It made no sense.
4. How both of the associate members were suddenly conveniently free to come to meetings.

Claudia Kishi, Middle School Dropout:
1. Claudia winning the exhibition her art class did. I know she's talented, but she suffers from the same thing as Jessi: Unrealistic excellence.
2. Claudia calling all the sixth and seventh graders "little brats". If you think that, why do you EVER hang around with Mallory and Jessi?
3. If Claudia needs to repeat seventh grade, why does she suddenly become a straight-A student? Eighth grade is too hard, seventh grade is too easy - there's something wrong with this picture.

Mary Anne and the Little Princess
1. The British stereotypes in this book are the worst! I’m pretty sure that British people don’t act all royal or like they’re around the queen all the time.
2. Sharon treating Mary Anne like Dawn. I mean, I understand that Sharon misses her daughter but why can’t she call her? (I know it doesn’t feel the same).
3. Why does Victoria have to be a part of the “royal” family instead of just being from an average one! I mean even though she’s 29th in line or something, I find it ridiculous!

Happy Holidays, Jessi:
1. The subplot. Not interesting at all, and that's coming from someone who knows nothing about Kwanzaa and would've been interested.
2. The main plot. It's another family feud and even worse!
3. The sheer thinness of the whole book. It feels like they just wrote it to remind us that there are more than two December holidays.

Abby’s Twin
1. The BSC shoveling driveways in Kristy and Abby’s neighborhood, or the rich part of Stoneybrook. This is not realistic because I feel like people in their neighborhood would call someone in to clean their driveways.
2. How Anna snapped at Abby. I guess I can understand how Abby was starting to be annoying and getting on Anna’s nerves, but I’ve been in Abby’s shoes before and just know that she really cares and just wanted to help.
3. The winter carnival thing the BSC hosted! How’s this different from the Fall in fall festival that Kristy wanted to do in book 100.

This is not realistic because I feel like people in their neighborhood would call someone in to clean their driveways No, it was realistic. The great thing about the BSC was that the girls were resourceful and did not wait around for others to do all the work, even the heavy-duty work. Also, even though Kristy and Abby's families were well-to-do, they never pampered their offspring or tried to shield them from hard work. I love that Stoneybrook...unlike Sweet Valley...was not stratified and the weathier residents of Stoneybrook were NOT snobbish or gentrified. There was little socio-economic status division in Stoneybrook.

Rich people are often cheap. They may rather pay a few kids than a snow removal service. Realistically they would own their own snow blowers or even some sort or bobcat depending on how big their property is. But then we wouldn’t have silly books to read.

True that SOME rich people are cheap, but it's good to read about girls who are active, resourceful, who earn their own way and who do things for themselves instead to relying on others to do it all for them. My sisters and I helped my mum shovel our walkway when we were growing up from the time we were eight or nine. I liked that even the BSC members and their charges that were from well-to-do families did not grow up pampered, passive or spoiled. I love that all of the Thomas-Brewer kids grew up helping with chores instead of having maids and servants waiting on them. Stoneybrook stayed mostly egalitarian and even its well-to-do residents mostly stayed down-to-Earth and unspoiled. Stoneybrook was NOT Sweet Valley.

Stacey and the math wiz:
1. Why is everyone so good at math that they had to hold a fair?
2. I thought Stacey was supposed to be in a higher math, those problems were simple.
3. Stacey on the cover, she looks so old.
Next up: Claudia queen of seventh grade
