^ Thanks. I think you're right. I just found the parallel in MA vs. Logan and had picked up on it the first time since I read both of these books around Valentine's Day. I'm reread MA vs. Logan right now and laughing that Karen chose "The Dead Bird" as the book for Kristy to read to them ;D Poor Karen.

Ha! I'd totally forgotten about that! Karen bugged me, but the whole "marriage" thing with Ricky was SO cute. I had a li'l boyfriend at around that age, though we never had plans to marry I would've been heartbroken if Frankie and I broke up! (He was totally the cutest boy in my class, too. )

^ I was "married" once, too Though mine was just a joke like "yeah, we're married. That's why we "like" each other" to get the older kids at the shows to stop bugging me and my guy friend for hanging out together when we were Karen's age. I had a friend who went through the whole ceremony on the playground, though, and I was a "bridesmaid" so I always remember that when I read about Karen's marriage. Liked how she worried about "cheating" on Ricky (though I don't think she actually called it this but can't remember) in Karen's Baby-Sitter. ;D

I don't remember that! Too funny. What, did she play Snail with another boy or something? Edit: I just did an amazon search and learned that The Dead Bird is a real book! I did not know that. Link!(Am I the only one who didn't know that?)

Don't know if this is considered "essential" but Karen's Goldfish is where she gets the fish, Crystal Light dies, and she gets Crystal Light II. I'm reading right now and am getting a good laugh. Though I still love Karen, she's totally over the top and it's funny ;D I can't blame her, though, for wanting to blame someone else for the fish's death and am not surprised that DM is the one she blames as there is already rivalry (understandable, too) between them. Fish killer ;D

Like two minutes after the fish funeral she got its twin out of Morbidda's back yard. Geez, at least take off your stupid funeral attire before you get a new pet, Karen! It was funny when Andrew freaked out and thought the first fish had come back to life.

Poor Morbidda Destiny. She gives Karen a new fish and Karen still insists she's a witch! Wonder why she'd accept a fish from a witch's pond anyway!

^I'm surprised she didn't accuse the fish of putting spells on Andrew or something.

^ Maybe Andrew thinks the witch brought Crystal Light I back to life. ;D Another "essential LS" book that may have already been mentioned (probably by me but my memory isn't always the greatest ;D) is Karen's Goodbye where the Delaneys move. Was thinking about that one after reading Poor Mal. It seemed like Karen was always a good friend to Amanda but I have to admit I like Melody much better. Amanda was interesting, though. So was Priscilla the cat ;D

This might have already been mentioned but The Three Musketeers: Karen, Hannie, and Nancy has some of the parts from Shadow Lake. I liked that they kept the two pretty consistent - even who rode in the vehicle with Watson and where they sat. Also mentioned that Shannon and Boo Boo went on the trip, which always made no sense to me but was noticable because of it.
