I have been thinking about this a lot in regards to LS books: doesn't it seem like Lisa and Watson are both really strict about the custody agreement, too strict than life would deem necessary? I mean, you have two kids, LITTLE kids. It's not as if Karen and Andrew are, say, 10 and 12 or 13. The parents seem so unbending in this case. Like, during Mother's Day or when Emily had the chicken pox etc. It makes me feel really bad for Andrew and Karen. Is it supposed to be a lesson about responsibility or something? Watson and Lisa's divorce didn't seem THAT bad--when Lisa broke her foot Watson helped her out and stuff. What do you guys think?

I agree. Another example is in Kristy and Mr. Mom when Karen and Andrew wanted to stay with Watson after his heart attack but it wasn't their month to stay at the big house. (Although I can understand how a hyperactive Karen might not be the best thing for a recovering Watson ;D). But still, it made me sad to think they couldn't bend "the rules" a bit.

I agree! the consistency in Watson/Lisa's relationship is ridiculous. They seem pretty amicable for the most part and they really seem like parents who want what's best for the kids, but then they are SO ridiculous about the custody arrangements! I mean WTH chill out.

Their custody relationship sometimes bothered me sometimes when it came to the holidays. One thing in particular that bothered me was when they wanted Karen and Andrew to have two Thanksgiving dinners and then they both got sick. I always was so mad at how selfish they were there.

I totally agree about this arrangement being stupid and way too rigid. I think they should have tried to do whatever was best for the kids. That's why I loved how they acknowledged that in Karen's Movie Star. I always feel so badly for Karen and Andrew with these situations and try to overlook them so I don't get too mad ;D It's situations like these that make me especially glad I'm not a "two-two" because it does not sound "gigundoly fun" ;D

i think the two-two bs was just a way to make karen feel better about her life.

I never thought of it like that, but the whole two-two name was probably a way of her dealing with the divorce.

ls books make me have a lot more sympathy for karen. in the bsc books she's just irritating. i am wondering how much in these books is intentional and how much we just infer with our obsessive reading

What was that Jacob Two-Two book about anyway? I'm assuming not divorce cause parents might have an uproar if their kid's teacher read that in school.

^ What in the world is a "hooded fang" That sounds like something that Fudgie would say in the "Superfudge" books ;D
