Yeah, this one was a little unbelievable. First off why the heck would she let her back in the house. Secondly, why would she believe her when she suddenly found it?

^I think they probably believe she just found it because she probably wouldn't have known about the cat's hiding places unless she'd actually followed him there.

^ I agree. And even if they didn't totally believe her, they got the ring back and couldn't prove that she had taken it, anyway.

It was shocking of Claudia checking Stacey's room!! How did Stace cope with that accusation?! It would have been worse if the BSC didn't trust her wouldn't it?

I always get so mad at Claudia for searching Stacey's room and not totally supporting her. My family has been the victim of false accusations and it is so terribly hurting that it can effect your whole life. It's something you never really get over but the most hurtful thing is when your friends don't support you. I really feel for Stacey in this book.

Claudia would experience a little of that herself though, when Mary Anne tells her they'll understand if she really did cheat off of Shawna.

^ I remember that and did feel for her, too. Not quite as bad, though, (even though I should have probably ;D) because it irritated me that she didn't just try to let her parents help.

^But she really refused their involvement after they were all "we'd like to believe you," didn't she? Even her parents didn't believe her at first...harsh. I'm not defending her not wanting their help, though...she totally should have let them.
I thought it was lame of Claudia for rummaging through Stacey's stuff without even trying to be discreet. ;D And Stacey was like "would I keep the ring in my jewelry box where any fool could find it?" Right on. Claudia hides stuff all over her room, she should know better.

^ As for Claudia, I think you're probably right. I am going to reread that one in the next few days as I can't remember it. ;D I did feel bad for her and should have felt worse for her. ;D Agree about her knowing better in the search. She's the ultimate hider. ;D

when i read this book as a kid i didn't know how much a diamond was. but Stacey would have known since she looked at the prices.... i thought that was stupid the gardellas never thought about their stupid cat. AND how they treated the animals..that was annoying. Oh, i thought it was dumb that STACEY helped find the ring. i think it would have been better if another girl any girl, found the ring herself and solved the mystery, because i mean i would htink that the gardellas would be bitches enough to say "i bet you put that ring there yourself!!!"
i've had that happen to me when some b*tch teacher lost her pen, accused me of taking it, then i found it and the jerk said "thank you for returning it" as if i STOLE it and got TIRED of it >> ARGHHHH

A side note, I thought that it was too much of a coincidence that Stacey wanted a ring and then next thing she knows, she's being accused of stealing one. I dunno.

At least she mentioned it as being a weird coincidence. If she hadn't, that would have been even odder.
