I thought that kid was really disturbed. I can't help but picture a future where he becomes a criminal and domestic abuser, but turns on the charm to the authorities and gets away with it. It's possible I'm overthinking, though.
And Claudia wanting to name the cake after herself...I never realized how self-centered/selfish/obnoxious Claudia was as a kid, but I sure as heck do now.
I was really disappointed with the winning teams. Two out of three were the series regulars? I wanted Grace and Mari's team to win over Logan's, actually, because Mari actually had talent and experience. I mean, it was obvious that Claudia and Mary Anne would win, because baby-sitters NEVER FREAKING LOSE AT ANYTHING, but...little things like that bug me. I need a hobby, I guess. ;D

^ Agree about Kyle being disturbed with that type of future. Maybe he could form a friendship with Sean Addison. ;D I felt for Kyle's sister. I must be kind of dumb, though, because even when I reread after forgetting the details of the subplot, I didn't catch on that Kyle was the one doing the stuff. I might have been skimming too much, though, even though I like the subplot. I am actually glad the main characters win. I hesitate to want anyone to fail, especially characters I like. ;D There are some people who happen to be good at everything (or just do what they're good at, which I think is fine ;D) and in real life, are sometimes treated worse because of this. I'm not going to start going into my thoughts on this, though. ;D As for Claudia wanting to name the cake after herself, I didn't remember that but actually find it kind of funny. ;D This one is on my reread list for the near future so I should have more thoughts on it then.

I was reading this one at lunch and thought the part about Jackie trying to make his own cake was endearing...he ended up with a grayish lump Poor Jackie. Also, there was a mention about cousins of the Rodowskys who were from Michigan. I thought of all you MI folks ;D

^ Things never seem to work out for that poor kid. It's nice to see him keep smiling and take things in stride, though. Missed the MI reference, booboo but will have to look for it. I'm about ready for a trip to Stoneybrook, myself. A trip anywhere would be nice. ;D

I think everyone can learn a lesson from Jackie! When things don't work out well for you, just keep smiling. Poor kid!

^ I never thought about this but you're right. I wonder if Jackie as a good lesson and example was intentional.

I'm only halfway through this book , really liking it so far, but please tell me i' not the only one who's going "wtf" at big tyler being 12. .. and being with the little kids... and jessi and mallory are one of the ones in charge of the day care. i've gotten past the 11 year olds looking after 10 year olds... but ... I felt bad for the poor kid, he sees to be looked at as one of the "charges" and jessi in the chapter i am in is in charge of younger kids...
of course i'm only halfway through the book...but sheesh. That's stretching it.

^ I never noticed the age but I know they did that in Mystery at the Mall, too. I think sometimes they forget how old the BSC members are. (I know I do - I imagine them older - which is probably why I usually don't pick up on these things. ;D)

I'm feeling scandalized about the girl in the children's division making out with the college intern. Am I really reading a BSC book?
I'm confused about the 12 year old who's hanging out with the kids. He seems to be only mentioned once, as hiding in the corner. Why? And what is going on with the use of the names? We have two Tylers, a Taylor, and a Megan and a Morgan. Not to mention the use of the name "Austin" we have Austin Bentley and then Tyler's last name is Austin? This is one of the more confusing books.
AND they screwed up. Sarah Hill is mentioned as being a team with her neighbor, Elizabeth Sayers. But the girl who lives by her and is always over is Elizabeth Yates.

^ Another inconsistency. ;D I remember the Tylers confusing me in this one too.
