Karen's Wish. It's probably one of my favourites in the entire series. I don't know why - maybe because I was a lot like Karen around Christmas time when I was a kid. I still read this during the holidays and still love it. It always puts me in a Christmasy mood!

Fluffycakes, do you have other Christmas books (not BSC) that you like? There are so many wonderful ones! I've got a collection that's way more than one a year, which is one of my favorite things about Christmastime. It's hard to pick a favorite though.

Although these aren't books, some christmas videos I loved as a kid was a Disney's Beauty and the Beast spin off, Winnie the Pooh's Christmas, and a Fisher Price Little People video called Christmas Fun, which also came with a book suggesting Christmas crafts for kids.

I LOVE Karen's Wish... OMG I wanna read it right now. Looks like I have to hunt around my parents basement this weekend!

I like all of her first holiday books the most. Karen's Ghost, Karen's Wish, Karen's New Year, Karen's In Love. They were good, straightforward holiday stories. By the end of the series it seemed like every 4th book had at least the mentioning of a holiday even if it wasn't a major plot line. It's hard to come up with 5 or 6 books about the same holiday and make them all different, interesting and believable.

Honestly, I don't really know. All of the Christmas books I like are from the BSC, oddly enough. If you have any suggestions, I'd gladly take them! And sparklymouse, I completely agree with everything you said! I completely agree, sparklymouse! I didn't get that far into the BSLS series before I switched into the BSC - I think one of the last LS books I read was Karen's Pizza Party - so I didn't read that many of the later holiday-themed books. Thanks to e-books, I've been able to catch up to ones that I missed, and I'd have to agree that the first holiday books were better than the later ones. I also completely agree that it must be hard to write about the same holidays over and over again and make them interesting and different. I think that the BSC was like that too, but not to the same extent. They had some great holiday books later on in the series (Stacey's Masquerade, anyone? That book still scares me!).

Karen's sleigh ride is my favorite Christmas book. Karen's Chicken Pox, and Ghost are my favorite Halloween books. LS holiday books just remind you of how you felt, and the excitement of a holiday when you were a kid. I love it.

Fluffycakes, I have lots of suggestions! To make you cry, there's Christmas Day in the Morning (Pearl Buck) and Christmas Tapestry (Patricia Polacco). For a longer story, there's A Midnight Carol (Patricia Davis). a good treasury book is Diane Goode's American Christmas. I think the prettiest one we have is The Huron Carol, with illustrations by Frances Tyrell.
