^ Exactly. While the Pikes end up with the most disgusting combos possible. Was there any good food in this book? Even the muffin pizzas sound a bit gross to me.

English muffin pizzas are good! I used to eat them all the time as a kid.

^ I don't like English Muffins (or actually homemade pizzas) so that's probably why they don't sound good to me. Really nothing sounds good to me right now, though, because my entire mouth is swollen from the dental problems I'm having..... Except Pizza (real pizza with lots of cheese) or cheeseburgers, as weird as that is ;D This isn't the book where Skylar Korman screams "tat!" over and over, is it? That always annoyed me.

^ Sorry I'd forgotten to put that I was referring to sotypical's question! I was talking about the Dewitts eating crushed jaffa cake sandwiches... ugh.

I'm with aln, english muffin "pizzas" are gross. I distinctly remember times when I'd tell my mom we should have pizza for supper (and I meant order out!) and she would tell me to have an english muffin pizza! That is NOT the same thing! At all! I also used to hate my mom's homemade pizza.
jaffa cakes look kinda good, I don't know what they would be called in the US though, they don't look familiar to me at all.

they don't exist in the us.
i like pretty much any pizza as long as it's just cheese + sauce + dough. I've seen pizza with corn on it in various foreign locales and i'm just like WTF is corn doing on pizza???

^ Corn on pizza has to be one of the grossest toppings I've heard of. I can see one of the Pikes eating it, though ;D Doesn't Mal make the Craine girls a decent snack? Or am I thinking of a different book?

Ooh yeah I don't like it when people try to get creative with pizza. I've seen it with things like broccoli and asparagus on it and that just doesn't sound appealing!
aln, I don't think this is the book where Skylar keeps screaming "tat!"

I looooved the first chapter of this book -- I made english muffin pizzas a lot as a kid, and I would make them on bagels, too. I didn't do A LOT of cooking at 13, but I would help out/watch my mom cook and learn how to mash potatoes, layer a casserole, fry chicken, etc. If I was alone in the house, though -- the most I made was canned soup, salad and cookies. Now I'm up to meatloaf.

^ I did the same kind of cooking, Janey. But I've actually regressed back to letting mom do everything since I don't want to take the time. ;D Sometimes I do like cooking, though, and think I would enjoy doing it more if I felt like I was doing it "for" someone (like pretending to be the "mom")

I love English muffin pizzas. hitzpink, Dawn is really into broccoli on pizza. I wonder why the BSC always got broccoli on half the pizza -- did Dawn eat half of the pizza and six other girls shared the other half? Or did some of them just have to put up with the broccoli on their half? Or what?

I love broccoli, and the idea of it on pizza actually quite appeals to me!
Maybe some of the girls just didn't mind broccoli on one entire half and either ate it or picked it off.
