^ Well, it IS summer for you guys. Seriously, though, I can't imagine having Christmas in the middle of summer!

I can't imagine it in winter... I don't know if it would take away my love for it, considering I hate the cold and winter. I like the idea of a white Christmas though, but I'd probably hate living it.

^ Do you guys have have special southern hemisphere Christmas songs about sunshine and warm weather? So many of the songs from this time of hear involve cold or snow or winter in some way.

^ I've thought that too. "Oh the weather outside is frightful..." Frightful if you hate balmy temperatures and sunny skies! Obviously they can't relate as much. But it's probably fun imagining it!

I don't think I've ever bought Christmas clothes for myself, but my aunt and uncle did give me a pair of Christmasy pajamas (they have cute gingerbread boys and girls on the pants) that I wear around December, and a few years ago my best friend gave me some very warm slipper socks that are red with a snowflake design on them. Last year I asked my grandmother if she had any...errr..."festive" Christmas shirts I could wear to a Christmas party. Of course, I didn't use the words "ugly Christmas sweater". She was thrilled that I was asking because she always bought WAY too much stuff at thrift stores, and so of course she had stuff she wanted me to take, and I walked away with two extremely tacky and glittery Christmas sweatshirts. Unfortunately, she passed away this year - pretty suddenly, and pretty unexpectedly. This has been a rough year for me, because we were very close. I think of her a lot because, like the Christmas shirts, I have a lot of stuff from her. I think over half the ornaments on my tree were from her - from thrift shops, of course. On Tuesday night I wore one of the sweatshirts to a Christmas party, which I know would have made her very happy!

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, celaeno. My father-in-law died suddenly and unexpectedly this year, too, and we were very close as well. He was like a dad to me. So I know how tough it can be to deal with. I'm glad you have a lot of your grandma's things. It can be nice to have those things around to help bring up happier memories. I bet you're right, she would be very happy you wore her sweatshirt!

^Thank you candykane. It seems like a lot of people on here have had a rough year with losing loved ones (especially with you also losing your great-grandmother-in-law), no? It's nice that you had a close relationship with your father-in-law. I have a photo from like 16 years ago that shows my MomMom wearing one of the Christmas sweatshirts I mentioned above. I wish I had a clearer shot of it so I could do a funny comparison.

I love how ugly Christmas sweater parties have become like a "cult classic" (I don't know if that's even the right term, haha). Recently, I've been getting a lot of invites via Facebook for ugly sweater parties.

When my younger siblings and I were little, our mom used to dress us up in Mrs. Prezzisio-style Christmas clothes. I remember one year I wore a very lacy red dress and I didn't appreciate wearing it at all When we got older and outgrew wearing silly dresses, our mom, aunt, and grandmother made us wear ugly Christmas sweaters We didn't appreciate it one bit, lol. Right now, though, we pick our own clothes (and our parents/aunts/grandmas are kinda bummed). I'm going to wear a red turtleneck shirt with an evergreen sweater over it, jeans, and sneakers. A very Kristy-like outfit, I know I'm pretty casual except for very special occasions. In our family, we don't go to church or have a fancy dinner so there's no need to dress up. Merry Christmas, y'all!

I really don't have a Christmas outfit. I just wear jeans with one of my Christmas sweaters or sweatshirts.

I have a nice red sweater with black and silver designs on the shoulders. It's not shiny enough to be tacky, but it looks nice for christmas and all year around

Today the "Holiday" parade here is happening; early until you realize how cold it gets here! I'm wearing purple ornament earrings.

I found a picture of me in my blue velvet Christmas dress. I'm smiling super big and holding a plate of the Christmas goodies I got at school because my mom took the picture right after we got home to start Christmas break. I remember the day clearly, haha
