ITA Starrynight. I much prefer to actually hold a book. Maybe I'm really "old" fashioned because I also prefer VHS tapes to DVD's. Sort of like a physical book, with a tape, it is so much easier to "pause" or "rewind" than it is with a DVD or I'm guessing e-book. On the other hand, if e-readers encourage a new BSC generation and younger folks to read in general than more power to them. I like VHS tapes a lot. I like that you can fast forward to the movie super easy, even through the stupid FBI warning. I like that you can take it out, put another movie in, and then start off exactly where you stopped. I do prefer CDs to cassette tapes though, because usually there are a few songs on an album I would rather not listen to, and with a cassette its a huge pain to skip a song.

There have been Kindle item listings on Amazon for some of the earlier books with the older cover art (and by older, I just mean "not the 2010 cover art," because it's not the original artwork) for at least the past month, but since there wasn't much other information, I didn't know until the other day that the text was going to remain unchanged. It's much cooler knowing that it's the original text and not updated! (I saw them when I was searching for info on Ann's upcoming four-book series. I found a Library of Congress catalogue listing for the first one back in the summer or something, and although I emailed Scholastic at the time, they didn't tell me any more about it, but the synopsis went up on its Amazon page a couple of weeks ago. The main character of the first book is named Abby!)

^ I think I'm going to have to look for that book at the library when it's out! It sounds interesting.

The books are about $5 to pre-order. Seems overpriced to me...

^Yeah, I'm a cheap-o and never even got around to reading the Summer Before because I didn't want to pay $6 for a kid's book. Five bucks for not even a physical copy is too much for me.

There's a site called Books on the Knob that posts coupon codes and info about free and bargain e-books. You might find some coupon codes you can apply to BSC books.

Yeah, all of the ones that they are e-publishing are early, easy to find for a $1 books. I don't know how well it is going to do, because I think most hardcore fans want the real books. But there was an article about it in People magazine this week, which was freaking awesome! I showed my husband, but he didn't seem to excited...

I thought, when you click on the name. You will be able to read it. I thought you have choice. When, you go to Baby-Sitters Club apps. Sorta of like, taking out at library. Instead, your reading online. But, they still want you paid for it. We don't buy stuff online.

Yeah, I saw a little mention in a magazine, too. Maybe it was People. It mentioned the original covers, and then the book pics they showed had the updated cover art

Has anyone looked into these or bought any? I stumbled upon Amazon's kindle page (I don't have a kindle so have no reason to ever browse kindle selections), and anyway as of the end of October they will have released the first 38 books and 12 super specials. I wasn't aware that they had even started releasing the super specials.
