Oh ok...yeah, I think she for sure had cancer, but didn't know if it was breast cancer like you mentioned.

^ I don't think Alma had breast cancer (might have been, though, but I doubt it ;D) and was actually talking about Abby's grandma with that part. ;D

I was also under the impression that she died from some sort of cancer. I am not sure though.

I can't remember what Alma died of. It just seemed like she went suddenly--and from what she wrote to Mary Anne in that letter, it also seemed like she knew she was going to die. That's sad.

^ Definitely. I remember a few mentions that she'd been sick for a long time (or at least for a while) too.

it also seemed like she knew she was going to die. That's sad. I definitely agree.

I agree, the letters she wrote to Mary Anne was really sad as if she knew her time was coming to an end.

I just re-read this for the first time in a while. Liz Connor was one creepy chick.

I just read this one again and it reminded me of why it is one of my favorite of the mysteries. Given, I haven't read them all, but from the ones I have read...this one takes the cake by far! It has the perfect amount of creepiness that I can still sleep at night but get a little frightened. I love the Ghostbusters subplot, because it is really funny and sort of random.
Liz freaks me out...her whole 'Will you love me tomorrow' writing and the dummy...eek! That poor girl though...I mean, the whole dare was downright awful, but having it affect the rest of your life is really sad.
I liked the costumes the BSCers chose to wear...very fitting in my opinion. The image of Mallory dressed in an old Swan Lake costume of Jessi's just cracks me up! And I'm guessing this is post-MA's makeover since she wears a wig (I skipped Chapter 2).

i absolutely adore this mystery... i reread it last night, and it's super freaky... the dummy hanging from the basketball hoop, the 'will you still love me tomorrow?'... *shivers*
buttt... did anyone find it completely absurd that the door to the basement wasn't locked and simply had a 'no entry' sign on it? i dunno about your high/middle schools but mine definitely would of had the doors locked. i mean, come on... seems like there;s quite a lot of confidential stuff in the basement.
