Bonus question: If Dawn was in a beauty pageant (yeah, right), which would she choose as her platform?

Dawn might be mellow and open-minded enough to not automatically dismiss beauty pageants (considering she was ok that she won one as a baby, and didn't mind helping little girls join the Little Miss Stoneybrook pageant). I guess out of all of these I would vote for the "Girl power/feminism" one, although I don't really like either term, since "girl power" seems like it's mostly been appropriated to "empower" girls to be consumers or sexualized objects...but I do care very much about gender issues like how the media shapes the public's view of gender roles and desirable gender traits and how that affects boys and girls, so I voted for that option.

I put healthy eating, but that is really more in theory. I actually do a lot more recycling than healthy eating, but I think healthy eating really is essential to health, physically, mentally, and for the world (gmos and pesticides are awful). I'm more for getting rid of junk food then limiting myself. I mean I'd prefer they just quit making French fries rather than having to exercise self control lol. Of course then I'd be mad the government was telling me what to do.

I think the term "girl power" is hokey because, hello, Spice Girls. Shall we say she promotes self esteem in girls? Anyhoo.
I picked recycling. The whole paper/plastic/glass/aluminum should be a no brainer at this point in life, but kids should learn the environmental benefits of repurposing goods like furniture, clothes, etc.

For now, I pick recycling.

i do more than one of these, but i have to pick vegetarianism because it takes a pretty serious, constant commitment. i think that would also be dawn's beauty pageant platform.

I think Dawn would choose the environment in general for her beauty pageant platform.
I generally agree with Dawn's POV on things, just not to the extremes she takes things -- which I think is normal for someone so young. She develops over the course of the Diaries and seems less pushy/obnoxious about her beliefs. Dawn's values pretty much reflect the values of the community I grew up in (Quakers) so I related to and admired her a lot when I was younger.

I picked recycling and healthy eating. I probably recycle the most in my daily life, but I actually enjoy healthy eating and have really been making more of an effort to do so. In terms of what I would publicly support? Not sure. I'm not big on telling other people how to live their lives or what they should be passionate about.

I honestly support all of Dawn's causes (I'm not vegetarian myself, but I would consider it). I know everyone thinks Dawn Saves the Planet is annoying, but I really agree with what she says and I wish more people would take stuff like that seriously. I'm very anti guns-as-toys when I'm babysitting as well, etc. So I like all the causes, hah!

I'm very much for environmentalism, especially recycling; I'm also for feminism but not necessarily as Dawn interpreted and practiced it (especially in Starring).

I'm for healthy eating and actually go further than vegetarian (I eat vegan), but she represents those I have absolutely no patience or tolerance for..maybe it's just me, but certainly it can't be that hard to just lead by example instead of resorting to attacking and alienating people.

I'd say recycling myself. Not just paper, plastic, and glass but also reusing items and stuff.
