^ If that's the case, it's strange then how Kristy didn't remember seeing Zoe in Kristy's Big News.

In the book, Karen wanted to see the Four Corners. In a guidebook I took from the library, I learned that it's 2,000 miles east of the actual border between the four states. I wonder what Karen's reaction would've been once she learned that.

^ True. I can only imagine her temper tantrum if they refused to.

I looked for a thread on this book and couldn't find one, so I originally put this up on a separate thread. Then I finally looked again and saw this, so deleted the new thread and put my opinion here instead.
I was rereading "Dawn and the Big Sleepover" and discovered a continuity error. In the original book, Rachel Redriver is the name of Vanessa Pike's pen pal. In this book, when Mallory, Jessi and Abby visit the Zuni tribe, Rachel is referred to as Margo's pen pal. It wouldn't be such a big deal if Mallory wasn't narrating here, but it is one of her chapters - you'd think she'd be able to get her sisters' pen pals straight, of all pen pals! I wouldn't complain so much if it wasn't for Margo actually complaining about how she doesn't like her pen pal in the first book.
That said, this was kind of an interesting book. I enjoyed learning about some of the different locations in America, and it was nice to see a few of the other things. Seeing what Kristy's dad was up to now was interesting, and I loved the idea of a tourist trap ghost town (in my city, we have something similar - a former psychiatric hospital tour with ghostly effects called Spookers, but we're pretty far from the USA). Also, I really want to go to the Mall of America. Ala Moana Centre in Honolulu may be the biggest open-air mall in the world, but it doesn't have a theme park. Guess I better put Minnesota on my list of future destinations!

This book doesn’t sound too bad... but I still don’t want to read it. I’ve been to the Mall of America before! I don’t remember a lot because I was like four years old. I also lived in Minnesota at the time.

Mercury, it was this book where Claudia found the Georgia O'Keefe sketch. Claudia was annoyed by Mary Anne's knitting. It seemed like Dawn and Jeff were, too. Only because Jack Schafer was getting on Mary Anne's nerves.

Mary Anne is way too sensitive in this one... I didn't think so...Jack Schafer was teasing her too much and the west coast was a bit overwhelming for Mary Anne. Mary Anne was unintentially funny when she feared an earthquake was happening...darling Mary Anne.💙💙💙

I hate this one.
Mary Anne was too sensitive and Stacey turning something into a drama.
Grammar was terrible in this one and what's with all the question marks in every paragraph?

I hate this one. Mary Anne was too sensitive and Stacey turning something into a drama. Grammar was terrible in this one and what's with all the question marks in every paragraph? I liked this one (just finished it), but I agree about the question marks! That was so weird. Anytime someone was cut off mid sentence, it ended like this: "?-" (with a longer dash). Not sure what was up with that. This one is pretty decent for a late book. The Claudia and Stacey right was very dumb and forced. Stacey was insufferable in this book. What was her problem? That's my only real complaint, though. The best part has to be the Grand Canyon and Abby's journal at the end of the book. Ngl, I teared up. I liked how Kristy ran into her father too. I'm glad Claudia kept the O'Keeffe sketch. I think she made the right decision. I wouldn't have wanted to part with it either. So far, I think it's the best of the later Super Specials. Maybe European Vacation will change my mind.

I enjoyed this one, for the most part. It's fun reading about the two road trips across the country, especially when they go to destinations I've been to several times (Mall of America and Seattle). There were some things that drove me crazy. One of them was Kristy getting to visit about 12 (I might be exaggerating, but not really!) baseball stadiums throughout the country while Claudia only gets to visit one art museum. What kind of BS is that? You can read more about my thoughts in my review! thebookshelfofsara.blogspot.com/2021/08/its-party-for-bsc-in-usa.html

You can read more about my thoughts in my review! thebookshelfofsara.blogspot.com/2021/08/its-party-for-bsc-in-usa.html(I'm sick and reading your reviews is helping take my mind off it) I guess my sense of humor never really evolved past 4 years old because I laughed so hard at "Poopytown." But yeah, honestly, it never dawned on me how unfair Kristy's ten or so stops in this book was. If it weren't for her baseball stadiums, I'd have chosen the Northern RV myself. But they seemed more miserable, with Jack teasing Mary Anne, Stacey and Claudia's extremely stupid fight (seriously, this is the DUMBEST fight), and getting stranded in the Badlands (I took Dawn's coyotes are vegetarians thing as a reassuring joke. Either way, they're fine, they're in an RV). I love that the original 5 BSCers are together, but man, the more I think about it, the more miserable their trip sounded. Yeah, what in the world was up with Stacey in this book? She was just at her grouchiest and I agree, her reason for picking Seattle was dumb af. Stacey is supposed to be smart (likely the second smartest club member after Shannon), but she really doesn't come across as smart here. Maybe all the baseball stadiums rotted her brain. I like Dawn (although I liked her much better in the early books), but omg is she annoying about her diet. This is coming from a vegetarian... she is beyond rude about it. You don't make people order what you want to eat (I like seitan, but no, it does not taste like steak. It has a meatlike texture but actually tastes kind of sweet. It can be good but it's tricky. I personally think it's better in a stir fry) or lecture a poor guy who's just trying to do his job. Ugh. Get over it, Dawn, it's not like someone is forcing you to eat or prepare it and you're not even an actual vegetarian (what are fish? Sentient plants?). The Liz plotline was extremely pointless. I laughed so hard at your analysis of Watson's pick because it's so true lol. Some of their choices did seem random. Abby's Grand Canyon chapter was very well written and I admit I cried a little. I can't believe Jessi thought Mal was racist. Mal really doesn't get any good storylines in these, the poor girl.

I agree Stacey and Claudia's fight in this one was the dumbest in the entire series. Claudia glimpsed at Stacey's diary and Stacey accused her of snooping? Chill out, Stacey.
Was this also the book where Dawn lectured a waiter about serving meat? She needs to chill out too.

(I'm sick and reading your reviews is helping take my mind off it) I'm glad my review are helping you keep your mind off you being sick. I hope you are feeling better! I had a lot of fun writing these review (even though it took awhile to write all of them). I'm thinking of doing the same for the Super Mysteries in the future.
