It kinda bugs me when they mix up everyone's hair colors like that because I'll be reading along and picturing everyone like I usually do and then they throw stuff like that at me and I'm all 'the heck?'

^ I think that's why I just kind of picture them however I want and not necessarily according to the descriptions. ;D

Huh. I haven't commented on this book yet. I like it a lot, mostly because I like most of the mysteries, I like Cary, and I love riddles/puzzles. I'm not often very good with them, but I still like them.
I prefer this mystery to a lot of the later ones, because they're not as 'serious.' I'd much rather read about silly mystery wars and a teenager with a grudge than arsonists, stalkers, cat burglars and whatever. It's so much more appropriate a mystery for thirteen-year-olds.
That said, I agree that some of the riddles seemed impossible to figure out. The BSC girls must be really smart, because I would have gone way over the limit of days for them.
Fave parts:
-Kristy mocking Cary's eyebrow raising. -The kids' scavenger hunt. AstroTurf? Tree branches? *lol* -Charlotte looking 'bloodthirstily' at the opposing team. Freaky! -Emily the school newspaper editor's slight jab at Claudia's spelling. -Abby's 'radiate her' joke. Cracks me up everytime.
... And I can't remember anything else.

^ I loved Kristy mocking Cary, too, and Char's expression. ;D Reminds me of how I must look sometimes. ;D

^^i love Abby's "radiate her". SHe was all 'Who exactly is Ray D? And why did he eat her?" Cracks me up. Although it kinda sounds like something Claudia might ask.

And she says it so earnestly, *lol*. I wish Claudia had said it, though! I can imagine her puzzled frown as she thinks about it.

Didn't Claudia make the connection about Troy Parker being colorblind? So she really solved the mystery.

Yup! Hey, that's kinda weird. Usually, the sitter who gets the book makes the connection between clues and solutions, right? So why did Claudia solve it?

^ I never noticed that the sitter whose book it is solves the mystery if the other sitters are involved. You're probably right, though. ;D I'll have to think more about that and try to remember the other books and who solved each one. ;D

Actually Mary Anne solved it. I know because I just finished reading it. I don't know how it came to her - it makes sense that Claudia, the artist, might know know more colour blindness and colours. I dunno. I actually quite liked this mystery, which I just finished reading for the first time. I didn't really understand Troy's motive though - did he not realize that he would have to go to school in July, too? I mean, he was only suspended, not expelled, right? So that seems a bit weird to me. I liked the kids' sub-plot, for once. It was cute and brings back memories of my graduation scavenger hunt, which was a lot of fun. The girls say that this was one of the club's better ideas (though they say that a lot) and this time, I have to agree. Love the interaction with Cary. He's growing on me a lot. And he and Kristy are obviously hot for each other. Not bad, for a later mystery!

I actually liked the subplot, too, and Kristy mocking Cary's eyebrow thing was just priceless.

I liked this one quite a bit. I just finished it for the first time. I liked the clue war, and Kristy and Cary's relationship. They so want each other; at least he's totally hot for her. Kristy seemed immature, but not as bad as usual. I even liked the chapter two, the descriptions of the sitters were closer to the beginning of the series, rather than the later.
I didn't like the sitting parts -- it just didn't fit to throw in a random scavenger hunt for the kids. BORING.
I was confused about the teacher's possible strike though -- why would they strike at the end of the year? I've lived through several teacher's strikes, and they seem to always occur in the fall; teacher's contracts are negotiated in the summer. Is it a Connecticut thing?
I can't believe that the BSC are such upstanding citizens that no one suspects them of anything when they are constantly found at the scene of the crime. I have been falsely accused of plenty of things, and grownups don't always listen to the students. It almost makes me want to be a teacher.
Kristy would be the type to need a digital beeping wristwatch.

I liked Kristy and Cary's relationship in this one, too. And, yes, the subplot sucked.
