Chapter Ten:
Mary Anne had decided to spend the night at Kristy's house on Friday night. The last time she spent the night with Kristy was the night before Mary Anne's sixteenth birthday.
Mary Anne asked Kristy if she could come spend the night with her over the phone and Kristy happily agreed. Mary Anne entered the living room where Mr. Spier was reading in his recliner.
"Hi, Dad," Mary Anne greeted.
"Hi, Mary Anne," Mr. Spier greeted back. "How are you feeling?"
"I noticed that my stomach is getting rounder," Mary Anne sighed as she sat down on the couch. "I'm already almost five weeks pregnant. I'm going to look like a whale very soon."
"You will still look beautiful, Mary Anne," Mr. Spier chuckled. "After you have the baby, you will be skinny again."
"Are you saying that I'm not skinny anymore?" Mary Anne asked, clearly offended.
"No, of course not, Mary Anne--"
"That's what you are exactly saying," Mary Anne interrupted. "You are calling me fat and you know it."
"Calm down, Mary Anne," Mr. Spier said with a sigh. "I wasn't calling you fat. I just worded it wrong. I should have said,'Your stomach wouldn't be round anymore after having the baby'."
"I forgive you," Mary Anne said stiffly. "I'm sorry, Dad, I'm just tired. Oh...I forgot to tell you I'm going to spend the night at Kristy's house tonight."
"All right," Mr. Spier agreed. "Are you leaving now?"
"Yup."
"Have fun then," Mr. Spier said. "I love you dearly."
"Me too," Mary Anne hugged her father and kissed him on the cheek. "Kristy and Sam are picking me up."
Just then Mary Anne heard a knock on the door. She knew Kristy and Sam were there. Mary Anne rushed to her room to get her overnight bag. Then she answered the door. There stood Kristy Thomas, grinning excitedly.
"Let's go!" Kristy exclaimed, grabbing Mary Anne's arm.
" 'Bye, Dad!" Mary Anne called over her shoulder.
It was going to be a fun night.

Logan knocked Mary Anne out? It's "knocked up." And I'm surprised she calls him "honey" after he calls her "a**hole"...

Booboo is right. It's Knocked up. Knocked out means, he punch the days out of Mary Anne.

Chapter Eleven:
Mary Anne and Kristy hopped inside Sam's car. Once they buckled up, Sam started driving down the road.
"Guess what?" Kristy announced. "I rented 'Dirty Dancing' to watch tonight."
"Oh, my gosh!" Mary Anne exclaimed. "It's kind of an old movie-from, like, the eighties-but I never watched it before."
"Me neither," Kristy said. "We were too busy watching Mary Poppins, The Parent Trap, and Ghostbusters."
Mary Anne giggled. "We were only thirteen after all," She reminded Kristy.
"Ooh, girls, don't you think the dancing is a little bit dirty for such little girls?" Sam asked teasingly.
"Shut up, Sam." Kristy rolled her eyes. "We are sixteen years old, for god's sake!"
"I think Mary Anne can handle it," Sam said. "After all, she did have sex with guys before."
"I only had sex with ONE guy, thank you very much." Mary Anne corrected. "I'm not a sl*t, you know."
"You are a sl*t," contradicted Sam. "You got pregnant by Trevor Sandbourne. You were cheating on Logan. That's a very sl*tty thing to do."
"That's a lie!" Mary Anne cried. "Logan was just spreading rumors about me."
"Yeah!" Kristy said, defending Mary Anne. "Why don't you shut your mouth, Sam. You are downright rude. No, you are a downright f*cking jerk. How dare you call my best friend in the entire world a sl*t!"
Tears slipped down Mary Anne's cheeks. She couldn't believe Sam had hurt her feelings. Maybe he didn't realize he was hurting Mary Anne's feelings. Or maybe he was just a jerk.
Mary Anne knew people would call her a sl*t but she would have never guessed Kristy's own brother would call her a sl*t also.

I thought "Mary Anne Spier, A Teenage Mom" was too boring of a title so I changed it to "Knocked Up".

Logan's "abort it, not a very nice person" line gave me the giggles. I don't think it was supposed to. Could you please clarify what you meant by Sharon dying of "some sort of chemical illness" and where you got that idea from. I'm sure you meant no harm, but that phrasing stirs up some emotions for some of the board members. (It sounds like you as the author aren't really sure of what you mean, anyway. Perhaps you should change it to something you know a little more about.) ETA: Hee. The censor changed my favorite part of the quote.

Chapter Twelve:
Kristy, Mary Anne, and Sam arrived at the Thomas/Brewer house. Kristy grabbed Mary Anne's arm and pulled her into the house. Mary Anne was still deeply hurt by Sam's words.
"Hello, Mary Anne," Mrs. Brewer greeted warmly. "How are you?"
"I'm fine," Mary Anne replied, even though she felt the opposite of fine.
"She's not fine," Kristy corrected. "Mom, Sam called her a sl*t because she's, um, pregnant."
"Sam called Mary Anne a sl*t?" Mrs. Brewer didn't seem to believe it.
Just then Sam entered the room, looking cool and casual. He was wearing a smirk and he ran his hands into his hands. Kristy rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at Sam.
"Sam, is it true that you called Mary Anne a sl*t?" Mrs. Brewer asked her son.
"Yeah...so what?"
"What do you mean 'so what'? Do you realize that you hurt Mary Anne's feelings?"
"I..."
"Shut up. Don't speak a word."
Sam rolled his eyes and went upstairs to his bedroom. Not long after Karen and Andrew Brewer came into the room. Karen, age ten, hugged Mary Anne. Andrew, age eight, hugged Mary Anne by the legs.
"Hi, you guys," Mary Anne chuckled.
"Mary Anne, guess what!" Karen cried.
"I can't imagine."
"I got an A+ on my book report!" Karen replied. "I had to write a book report about my favorite book which is The Little Witch. I am too old to read it now but it will always hold a special place in my heart. My English teacher adored my paper. She was very impressed."
"I got a new rocket ship," Andrew spoke quietly.
"Congratulations, Karen," Mary Anne said. "And, Andrew, that's fantastic you got a new rocket ship. I bet you really like it, huh?"
"I'm going to spend the night at Hannie Papadakis's house," Karen announced. "So 'bye!"
Since Hannie only lived across the street, Karen went by herself.
"I'm going to spend the night at Jamie Newton's house," Andrew whispered. "Mom is going to drive me."
"That's right," Mrs. Brewer smiled, putting a hand on Andrew's shoulder. "You got your bag ready, sweetheart?"
Andrew nodded his head silently.
"Emily Michelle's at Skylar Korman's house, right?" Kristy asked her mother.
"Yup, but she's not spending the night," Mrs. Brewer answered. "And David Michael is in his bedroom."
"Okay," Kristy said. "Come on, Mary Anne."
Kristy and Mary Anne went upstairs to Kristy's large bedroom. They plopped down on Kristy's queen-sized bed. Kristy pulled out a VHS tape labeled "Dirty Dancing".
"I am so psyched to watch the movie," Mary Anne exclaimed. "Should we order pizza, Chinese food, Japanese food, Mexican food, and double chocolate cake though?"
"Mary Anne..." Kristy rolled her eyes. "I know you are pregnant and everything but, seriously, you need to control your cravings."
"But--" Mary Anne began to say but she was interrupted by a loud knock on the door.
"WHAT?!" Kristy called.
The door creaked open and Sam entered the bedroom, looking guilty.
"What do you need?" Kristy asked rudely.
"Um, I need to talk to Mary Anne for a little bit," Sam said meekly.
"You better make it quick," Kristy said. "We are about to watch the movie."
Mary Anne, wondering why Sam wanted to talk to her, got off the bed and left the room with Sam.
"Let's go outside for privacy," Sam told Mary Anne.
Mary Anne nodded her head. She didn't say anything.

Chapter Thirteen:
Mary Anne and Sam were sitting outside on the back porch. Mary Anne gazed at the beautiful night sky. The moon was shimmering brightly. At last, she turned her face to Sam and managed to ask,"Sam, what do you need to say to me?"
"Mary Anne," Sam said, taking a deep breath. "I wanted to apologize for calling you a sl*t. I was being a jerk. Do you forgive me, Mary Anne? I hope so."
"How come you called me a sl*t?" Mary Anne challenged. "There must be a reason."
"I was just goofing around with you," Sam replied. "You know how I am. But I didn't realize I went too far. I am sorry, Mary Anne. Really, I am. Honest..."
"I believe you," Mary Anne said. "But you really hurt my feelings. For now on, you should think before you speak even if you are making a joke. You are eighteen years old, you are old to know what to say and what not to say."
"So you are forgive me?"
"Well..."
But before Mary Anne could reply, Sam leaned in to her and kissed her right on the lips. Mary Anne gasped. She wasn't expecting that at all. She looked at Sam's deep brown eyes and his perfect full lips. Then she returned the kiss.
"I forgive you," Mary Anne smiled.
"I'm glad," Sam chuckled.
He gave Mary Anne another kiss. Pretty soon they began making out. But then Mary Anne pulled away after about five seconds of making out. She began to feel uncomfortable. Not that she didn't like the kiss. She loved it, actually. But she felt guilty kissing Kristy's older brother whom she did not get along with.
"Let's go inside," Sam suggested. "Kristy's going to have a heart attack if we wait any longer."
"Yeah," Mary Anne giggled. "Seriously, Kristy overreacts over everything."
"I know, right."
Before Mary Anne knew it, she and Sam were telling each other of the many things Kristy overreacted over for no reason. Mary Anne kept giggling and giggling. She learned that Sam was a really cute and funny guy.
"Well, we really better get inside now," Mary Anne said once she stopped laughing.
"Before we go inside, Mary Anne, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure..."
"Would you like to go to a dinner and a movie sometime?"
"Like to? I would love to!"
"That's great," Sam looked relieved. "Are you free next Friday night at seven thirty?"
"Yeah."
"Terrific. Can't wait!"
"Me neither!"
Mary Anne and Sam awkwardly hugged each other. Then Sam went inside. Mary Anne looked at the moon and thought to herself: I can't believe I got asked out by Sam Thomas!
Mary Anne could hardly wait till next Friday night.

Chapter Fourteen:
When Mary Anne returned to Kristy's bedroom, she felt like she was floating in air. She still found it hard to believe that Sam had asked her out. She wondered what movie they were going to watch, what restaurant they were going to eat at, whether they would make out or not, or--
"Mary Anne, what took you so long?" Kristy asked impatiently, interrupting Mary Anne's thoughts.
"Oh...um, Sam just wanted to apologize me for calling me a sl*t," Mary Anne replied uneasily. "He felt bad. That's all...heh."
"What else happened?" Kristy questioned, looking suspicious. "You're my best friend, Mary Anne. You can tell me anything, remember? Besides you had the guts to tell me that you were pregnant."
"Sam asked me out to a dinner and a movie next Friday night," Mary Anne blurted.
She cringed, waiting for Kristy's reaction. But to Mary Anne's surprise, Kristy kept calm. However, her mouth was hanging, her eyebrows arched to the top of her forehead.
"Kristy, are you mad at me?" Mary Anne asked nervously. "I know you and Sam don't really have that great of a relationship so..."
"Mary Anne, I am not mad at you at!" Kristy answered, her face breaking into a grin. "In fact, I am extremely happy for you. Besides our relationship won't--and shouldn't--affect your possible relationship with Sam."
"Good," Mary Anne sighed of relief. "Guess what? Sam and I made out for five seconds."
"Yeah...um, let's watch the movie, okay?"
"Okay."
As Kristy and Mary Anne watched the movie, Mary Anne thought (and worried) about the upcoming date. And not to mention how their relationship may affect Kristy's relationship with Sam.
Calm down, Mary Anne told herself. You don't even know if you and Sam will have a real relationship. We just might go on, like, one date and forget about each other.
