Hmmm...what if Mallory had stayed as SMS after the disaster with the English eighth-grade class? Would the bullying have gone on for the next two years, even in high school?

I think most things fade with time. If she ever made it to 7th grade (haha) then the current 8th graders would be out of the school and the new 6th graders wouldn't know her. I don't know, I've been out of school for so long that I'm out of touch with reality, but I don't thnk she was destined to be tortured forever.

I don't know, I've been out of school for so long that I'm out of touch with reality, but I don't think she was destined to be tortured forever. Most likely not...but to somebody in middle school, just one month can feel like forever. I actually have my fanfic on FF.net in the second book of *The BSC Legacy* when the senior BSC are sophomores, they, along with lots other kids, are bullied and tortured by a very mean In-clique that rules Stoneybrook High. All the senior BSC go through a lot of torment in the latter half of their sophomore year and are afraid. In my third BSC Legacy book, however, a lot of new students join Stoneybrook High and things start to turn around for the BSC and other students when Abby inadvertently starts a movement with a small suggestion. The In-clique is weakened and ends up demolishing itself by the end of the senior BSC's junior year. I have to go back and edit, refurbish and revise the stories, but that's the epic I have for the BSC gang in high school.

What if Kristy got voted off during the election in Jessi Ramsey, Pet-Sitter?

^I only skimmed that book but wish that had happened. Claudia might actually be able to do as good or better a job, a lot more informal but still serious enough, while Kristy could be in charge of the notebook or get a new position like marketing officer or the person to talk to the parents in more serious situations. Kristy would fume for a while but hopefully, probably be willing to admit that the club was bigger than her and the members wanted a different style so she could accept contributing to it without being the leader.

What if Kristy got voted off during the election in Jessi Ramsey, Pet-Sitter? Remember what happened when Abby took over as president for a few days when Kristy was away? Who would make the best president?

What if Kristy got voted off during the election in Jessi Ramsey, Pet-Sitter? Not likely...the BSC girls don't operate that way.

Abby would have done it. They had a strange and competitive relationship.

^ Agree, I could see her doing it too. I don't remember which book Abby takes over for a few days, but I imagine she would do it how she started coaching the Krushers in Kristy and the Dirty Diapers - goofy and full of gimmicks, just enough to really irritate Kristy.

I think the book where Abby takes over is Stacey’s Broken Heart. What if the news Stacey’s parents had in (The truth about Stacey) was that they were actually expecting another child?

Stacey would be excited and bond a lot with, take pretty good care of the sibling, then feel a little more outraged if the parents had still later split up.
What if Kristy had expelled Logan from the club due to hanging with the Badd Boyz?
What if, from when he first moved to Stoneybrook, Logan had liked and gone out with Stacey?

Logan would have worked more often at Rosebud Cafe. Stacey would have faced the same competition Mary Anne did, except it would have been more heated since Stacey is considerably more assertive. Plus Stace wouldn't STAND for Logan being possessive, so it might fizzle. What if Claudia did go ahead and told the Lowells she and her friends don't like bigots even though Kristy said they couldn't say that?

I think Mrs. Lowell would have somehow tried to insist that she wasn't actually bigoted, Claudia just misinterpreted, but still be angry and say she then didn't want to use any of the club members. Not many other changes, the preexisting clients if they heard of the conflict would be proud of Claudia for standing up for herself.

To add onto this, I think Mrs. Lowell would have turned it around on Claudia. "How dare you accuse me, your family didn't teach you any manners" plus some discriminatory statement about how Mrs. Lowell should have known better than to allow Claudia into her home if this is the thanks she gets, I will never use the BSC again and that will show them, etc. Racist people truly believe they are better than others and I can see the mental gymnastics Mrs. Lowell would use to convince herself that Claudia is the problem, even when confronted with the truth. It's easier than admitting your entire worldview is wrong.
