I didn't care much for this book and only read it once a long time ago. However, I really liked this line from Jeff:
By the end of the day I wanted to wear a big sign around my neck that said: Jeff Schafer Jack's son 10 years old fifth grade Of course I'm growing. I'm a kid.
I can totally relate!
Stacy and Mrs. Barrett's bridesmaid might make sense if they were shown to be close. For instance, maybe if Mrs. Johanssen got married (I know she already is but I'm just making a point). However, I don't think that was the case with Mrs. Barrett.

^They did give that excuse that Stacey went on vacation with them multiple times.

Maybe she got confused and thought Stacey and Dawn were the same person.

Maybe she got confused and thought Stacey and Dawn were the same person. Well, they ARE both blonde hair and blue eyed #thinkerg#

I just read this for the first time. Well I've got a couple chapters left, but I'm practically done. Anyhow, I kind of like it. Maybe cause it's the first time I'm reading it and I LOVE reading a BSC book for the first time! A few things... Suzi's chapter - SO CUTE! Normally I hate the kid chapters in SS's, but I love how she's like "I think it's awesome how Stacey dots her I's with hearts!" then when she signs her letter to Santa, she draws a misshapen little heart over the I in Suzi. Awww So cute. The cover - LOVE Mary Anne and Dawn on the cover! Their dresses aren't very cute, but they look super cute!! MA usually does look cute though. Jessi - WTF? lmao. Okay... Stacey being a bridesmaid - I didn't really have a problem with this. She has vacationed with the family and all. Mrs. Barrett of course was being her usual psycho-kinda-bitchy self. And someone seriously needs to teach all those kids some manners. Ryan DeWitt - love how CA Ryan is at Dawn's goodbye party and Kristy notes that he's NOT related to the Ryan DeWitt back in Stoneybrook. Someone must've noticed the OOPS. And as for Claudia being like, a wedding consultant... um, okay. Even more ridiculous than Jessi being Santa.

I thought it was just one vacation, to Sea City in Sea City Here We Come! And Stacey and Mrs. Barrett didn't even get on that well. Prior to Here Come The Bridesmaids, I was under the impression Stacey wasn't too fond of Mrs. Barrett.

^That's why I thought they mixed up Stacey and Dawn. Dawn was to original go-to girl for the Barretts, and if she were still around, I could almost accept the bridesmaid thing.

I think I could accept it. I'd still roll my eyes, but I'd accept it. Dawn really did help pull the Barrett family together early in the series.

^ But how come Mrs. Barrett or Mr. Dewitt have any relatives or friends that could have been the bridesmaid?

I htought Ben was ridiculous for getting mad at Mallory for needing to switch the caroling date. I don't see that it should have been such a big deal!!!

You have to remember this is a couple that got in a fight over how to correctly use the card catalog.

I think of this book every time I hear the phrase de rigeur. "I'll take some of those, too." Oh, Claudia.

Jeff's line was the great. And Suzi's hearts over her signature sound too cute. Besides Ryan DeWitt, who were the other DeWitt children? I recently gave away all of my BSC collection (sigh, I sort of wish I hadn't because I'm getting back into the books now, if only for my own snarking pleasures.) so I don't remember all of the details... Word about Jessi as Santa. The fact that she is black is not an issue, Macy's and other major department stores routinely hire "minority" Santas. Personally, I think it is good idea. But the fact that there was an 11 year old girl to play Santa. WTF? If I was a kid, I'd demand to get my money back. LOL About Stacy and Mary Anne as bridesmaids, more proof that the world cannot go without the babysitters club. Besides aren't bridesmaids usually friends/family members of the bride and/or groom? Somehow the 13 year old who babysat your children on vacation one year is not who I would put in the friendship category. Why couldn't Stacey be a babysitter/mother's helper at the wedding like Mallory? That would make much more sense. Doesn't Mrs. Barrett have any adult friends in Stoneybrook? Heck, Mrs. Schafer would have been a better choice as a bridesmaid assuming that they would have met each other through Dawn. And nevermind the utter obserdity of having, as others on the forum have pointed out, your husband's ex-wife's new husband's daughter as a bridesmaid at YOUR wedding.
