What is up with Mallory and spying? She really lives up to her dork reputation in this book, "I planned to play Harriet from Harriet the Spy..." Also the fact that she was so fascinated by the idea of finding of what it looks like to see a boy and girl kiss... tres amusing when Pierre and Stacey catch her spying ;D. Sometimes I wonder whether secretly the BSC resented having younger girls in their club, judging by events like this.

I never minded Mallory and her spying. Actually, her whole family was pretty obsessed with spying (SAs anyone?). It kind of sounds like something I'd have done as a kid, lol. I'm really nosy... I can't make fun of Mal for it. Darn.

I didn't mind her spying too much either, the only time it bothered me was when she made these really out there assumptions after she spied on somebody.

I always wanted something interesting to spy on but never found anything. Still, I did as much spying as I could (and probably made my own share of dumb assumptions or at least developed theories that I knew weren't true but were fun to think about

I tried spying as a kid, but people were way too boring

Me too. I had some toy "telescope" I got in a Happy Meal or similar thing. I got bored of watching the people across the street watch television pretty fast.

I spied, too, but my family members were my only targets and they didn't do much. I still have my "spy notes," complete with fake spy name I made up for myself.

I used to spy on the older kids at the horse shows but they always caught me before I saw or heard anything interesting This thread is making me want to spy again but it seems like nothing exciting ever goes on anymore.

I think spying is just called people watching once you're grown up.

^ Jennifer O'Leary. I don't know why; I just thought it sounded cool. It's nothing like my real name.

Ha, I love that. I used to like to spy as a kid (everyone was boring, very disappointing), but I never thought to give myself a cool spy name. I did make myself a badge though.

^ No badge for me, but I DID try tp play SA's with my siblings. Anyway..yeah.."Winter Vacation." I like this one, as I do most Super Specials, but in retrospect, Stacey forming a relationship with a guy that warrants her writing "love" on a postcard in 5 days is probably not very realistic. That being said, I totally wanted it to happen to me when I was a kid.

I haven't read this one for a while and some questions popped into my head (don't ask why and have been bugging me all day. Did all of the BSC members go to the Lodge? I think they did but wasn't sure. Also, were there any baby-sitting chapters with the usual clients in Stoneybrook and did any of the story take place in Stoneybrook? I guess I need to reread but I'm scared it will make me colder than I already am

All the members went to the lodge. I don't remember any of it taking place in Stoneybrook other than the leaving and returning.
