It seems there's an unusually larger number of male teachers in the grade school and middle s. and then there's the man who's in charge of te three-year-olds at the daycare in Jessi's Wish. It good to have men in those positions, but a bit unexpected.

It good to have men in those positions, but a bit unexpected. I agree. Where I live, the percentage of male teachers at the primary level is only 10%. I am all for equality and equal rights between genders in the workplace, but if that was only 10% women you bet we would be hiring JUST women to make it a more even figure (as it should be). Interesting how men are on the minority side and it's weird to society because we don't know what to do in those situations...

In 4th grade I had an awful male teacher who probably should not have been directly involved with students. He didn't seem too happy (which if true, I am sorry for). However, it is never right to deprive children of meals and IIRC, we often were made late to lunch or skipped recess/snack because he was too power hungry. On the flip side, I had a 5th grade teacher who was female and not the best of people to me. The other 5th grade class was taught by a man, I have mentioned about him before as his name is Mr. Behar and that reminds me of KIMCC Mr. Berger. Anyway, I wish I had had the self confidence to have requested a transfer into his class. He came across as a caring and good teacher/person. Otherwise, outside of 4th grade, and a kindly music teacher, I did have all women in elementary school. I believe in both junior high and high school, to have had an equal or close to it, number of both men and women teachers.

I didn't have any male teachers in elementary school BUT I know that was part of my journey, as it gave me the passion to become the male teacher I never had

All female teachers in grade school, except the coach, and he replaced a female coach!
There were quite a few males who taught at my middle school, all really nice. My first male teacher was my seventh grade math teacher.

I had a male kindergarten teacher and he was awesome! He still teaches kindergarten in the same school district. I didn't have another male teacher until sixth grade.

I had a male art teacher in elementary school, and that was it. After elementary school though, it was probably an even split.

That's true, I never realized it until I came across this thread. I find it interesting because Ann usually seems to favor women rather than men; she was definitely a feminist, so I'm surprised there are a lot of men teachers. I only had two male teachers in my school "life": my 5th grade math teacher, and 7th grade history teacher. I loved both of them, especially my 7th grade one. They were awesome.
