^Mary Anne's favorite movie is also stated early in the series to be Sixteen f**k**g Candles. Hello, overprotective Richard? Slacking already > LOL. This is my favorite movie.

That is a good movie, I love all the Brat Pack movies, however I can't picture Mary Anne watching it.

Oh, I agree that there's nothing wrong with the word in and of itself, but it was a long time ago that you could use it as anything but an insult and not be horribly politically incorrect. I doubt it would have made it past the editors in recent years (especially when kids' books are being banned for using the word "scrotum.") Reminds me of another discussion we had on another forum I belong to.

I reread this one for the second time this morning (am so excited now to go to Disney that I can hardly stand it ) and loved it. Thoughts about it have been running through my head like crazy so I've posted under individual character threads instead of trying to put all of my thoughts in one rambling super-long post here. Anyway, there were a few things that kind of annoyed me about this book - Dawn as a stalker for a chapter and her and Kristy's fight are two examples - but for the most part, I liked everything about it. I loved reading about the kids at Disney and Dawn and Claudia with their boyfriends. Kristy's relationship with Mr. Staples and Stacey and the Pike girls' relationship with Marc really touched me. Mallory spying annoyed me a little and MA's part didn't thrill me but I didn't mind them. It reinforced my appreciation for several of the characters and made me like some of the others (triplets being one example) more than usual. In all, I think this is one of my favorite Super Specials. The only problem is that it makes me REALLY want to go to Disney (and it makes me mad Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is no longer at Disney World but only Disneyland

I am so jealous you are going to Disneyworld!
I think even though I just read this one, I may reread it again. I am always in the mood for this one.

I LOVE Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! I was so sad when they closed it. Have you been to Virtual Toad? The last time I read this book, I read it in French. It's so weird because everyone the Baby-sitters run into at Disney World just happens to speak French, of course, and they expect them to. Heh.

I read this book right before I went to DW for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I was pretty pissed to discover that Mr. Toad's Wild Ride no longer exists there because I was so looking forward to it. And when I went on the Haunted Mansion and it got to the Hitchhiking Ghosts part the first thing I thought about was Karen and her ghost from this SS. Because I am a sad individual. I was also slightly disappointed that Epcot is no longer anything like it is in this book.

I barely remember anything about Epcot. I remember the spaceship earth ride and that is about it...

Ah, Spaceship Earth. I liked Spaceship Earth. It had the shortest line of all the rides at Epcot and it was 15 minutes in air conditioning.

I love Spaceship Earth - I'm am crazy about history and it's the best "world history" ride at Epcot. I actually love all of Epcot and always have (but am really mad they replaced Horizons with Mission Space - Margo and I can't go on that one and was disappointed that more of the BSC didn't go there. I think they would have enjoyed it if they would have given it a chance. (Actually, I don't think they spent enough time at Disney but I never seem to have enough time there, either Now talking about it is making me really want to see the flowers from the Flower and Garden Festival going on right now. I might have to reread this book again. Twice ever just doesn't seem to be enough

They only spent about three days at Disney World, right? Totally not enough time, especially when you consider all the other parks in the same area!

Definitely. They should have totally gone to Sea World as well as Universal Studios (or was US even around back when the book was published?) I wish that Disney MGM Studios had been around at the time. You just know that the baby sitters would have gone on Tower of Terror and then bitched about how it made them sick.

I remember Tower of Terror! I was there the first summer it opened. I was really nervous to ride it at first, but I loved it!

Wish I could do Tower of Terror but it does make me sick. Didn't mind that the girls didn't go to the other parks (I never do, either. Too much fun at just Disney alone and I'm not a big animal or rollercoaster fan) though admit it would have been very interesting to read about them at Sea World. Maybe there should be another Super Special (fan fic idea?) where they go back to Florida and get to do more. Maybe I'll have to write this in my "journal" (like Mallory )while down there

Dawn at Sea World certainly has limitless possibilities.
