^ ;D Actually, I was so confused I didn't even come up with that connection. ;D I'm surprised I didn't, though, because that would usually be the first thing I would think of.

That was mean when Claudia and MA's shirts were wet and Cokie was saying '' Well if it isnt the baby sitters club wet t-shirt contest.''''Not that anyone would notice.''Claudia was like ''Stuff it,Cokie.''Cokie said ''I dont have to!'' Finally Claudia said ''Between the ears you do!''Sooo cool!Loved that part!

^ I liked Claudia's response to Cokie, too. ;D I always like it when the BSC gets a good dig in on Cokie.

^ Same here. And for someone who apparently isn't too great with words, Claudia's response was really clever. I wouldn't have been able to come up with that!

I read this for the first time today. I loved the Stacey & Kristy interaction. I agree we should have seen the two of them together more often. Abby's chapters didn't bother me all that much. I didn't see a huge point to Robert's chapter. I know we had to see him standing on his own two feet and all but why would Stacey insist he write in the journal?
Jessi and Mallory's chapters just irritated me. So much so that I ended up skimming them. However I thought it ironic that Jessi gives Mal a speech about missing things because she's writing when she did the exact same things in Aloha..!
The playground chapters stunk. They had some nice bsc bitchiness but just knocked the book off course. Plus it never really gave real reasons why none of them had gone except Claudia saying she wanted to stay in Stoneybrook. So Claudia ,the great artist, doesn't want to see world renowned art like the Mona Lisa or the Venus de Milo?!? I just didn't get it.

i think claudia wanted a job. ma didn't go because she wanted to spend the summer with dawn, who didn't want to go because she only had a short time to spend in stoneybrook. although she did go to hawaii, so i'm not sure if her reasoning holds up.

^ Wasn't Hawaii a "different" summer? Also, didn't Dawn mention that she went to Hawaii so didn't want to go to Europe too because that was too much time away from Stoneybrook? I might be wrong on this one, though.

hawaii was a "different" summer. but i guess by european vacation she had been living away from stoneybrook longer so she felt like she needed more time with her stoneybrook family than she had in hawaii. i believe that hawaii is the first super special after here comes the bridesmaids when dawn moves back to stoneybrook, so by hawaii she had just left.

I think I've found an error (surprise, surprise!) when they are talking about Mallory's family tree. On page 65, Mallory says that her mother's maiden name was Bennett, but if you look at the family tree drawing on page 66, I think it's actually Hartigan. If you follow the tree down from the top, Lucinda married John Hartigan and they had Adam. Adam Hartigan married Linda Carr and they had Diana. Diana Hartigan then married Jonathan Pike. So, her maiden name would be Hartigan, right? The only thing I can think of is maybe Lucinda's (Mallory's grandmother) maiden name was Bennett, but that still wouldn't make Mallory's mother's maiden name Bennett. Maybe I'm just thinking about this waaaay too much, as usual!

I imagine it's another case of the ghostwriters' inability to keep anything straight.

^ Probably. ;D Actually, though, my mom has this type of thing way back in her family tree (I've done some genealogy research) A great-something grandfather somehow ended up with his mom's maiden name (even though his parents were married) and he kept it even after immigrating. The whole family now has the mom's maiden name instead of the dad's name (which was not as good so we were glad ;D) So it is possible. (but probably a mistake ;D)
