Man, BooBoo is the shiznit- I love that cat and his hatred for others. I think that if I was a small(ish) furry animal and spent 7 years living with Karen, the demon spawn of the earth, I would likely end up not liking people either. And TOTAL word about him being less annoying then Tigger. I love cats, but would have to resist the urge to punt Tigger like a football.
I didn't think it was that unusual to bring BooBoo, because I used to go camping with friends from grade school every summer, and they would always bring their cat, and at the campgrounds there would always be a few random cats hanging around from other people staying there as well. *shrug* Doesn't seem that unusual to me, especially if they are used to being outdoors.
I found that overall, this SS and Island Adventure were the most boring. THe only shining moment really are the three musketeers OD-ing on "lovely lady" perfume, because that TOTALLY seems like something uppity little girls would do.

Jessi drove me crazy in this book. That guy seemed really nice and was just trying to be friendly, and she was like OMG I HAVE A BOYFRIEND IN NEW YORK WHATEVER SHALL I DOOOOOO?

I have two cats of my own. I like looking at pictures of kittens I don't know on The Daily Kitten and Cute Overload. My boyfriend's nickname for me is Kitten. I like listening to people talk about how cute their kittens are and how much they wuv them. But I hate Tigger and I hate Mary Anne talking about him. I think it might be because he has no personality.

I have a question about this book. You know how Kristy is collecting those diary pages from everyone to make a diary to show Watson how much they love Shadow Lake? Is the diary the entire book (unlikely, since that means Watson would be reading all their innermost thoughts and feelings)? Or is it just that little handwritten page at the start of each chapter? If it's just the handwritten page, then that'd make for a *very* short diary... It'd have what, 15 pages or something?
Actually, that's the same with all the SSs. They're all supposed to be a "diary" of their trip, but what exactly is the diary?

I think we only get to see the beginning of all the diary entries. I just assumed that there was more that we didn't get to see, because we got to "hear" what the characters were thinking instead.

That always confused me about their journals too. I kinda figure it's like the club notebook... I mean the part that is actually in their handwriting isn't the whole entry right? But the actual chapter isn't the entry, either. So I think they show us the beginning, then whoever was writing that entry writes more of what happened, but not in the detail that we read. I don't know, I could be so off base.

^ Oh, I like that theory! But can you imagine being a member of the BSC, and having to read the full version of Claudia's and Jessi's entries? Ugh.

The only ones who wouldn't suck are Mal's, Stacey's, Dawn's and Abby's. Oh, and I suppose Logan's. But the rest of them? Man... However, Jessi and Claud have the distinction of worst handwriting ever.

Shannon's would be alright as well.
I have to admit, Jessi's handwriting annoys me the most because it's so unrealistic. Claudia's is just untidy scrawl, but Jessi's is ridiculous.

Question: At the end Quint writes to Jessi and ends his letter with "yours til I see the salad dressing." Is that just a play on words? Like a salad getting dressed? Or am I missing something?
I wish the books had revisted the mystery perodically and found out more about it. Maybe strung out the story until the near the end of the series where they finally solved it.

Yeah, it's just a play on words. You can find a bunch of others like that in the summer camp novel Yours Till Niagara Falls, Abby by Jane O'Connor or in the Friends 4-Ever series by Deirdre Corey.

I actually liked the mystery in this book. When I read the part about them staying on the island, it creeped me out when I was younger...well okay still a little to this day when I reread it. I wonder whatever did happen to that family...

When I was younger, for some reason my favorite part of the book was when they spend the night on the island. I thought it was just SOOO cool, but when I re-read it I was largely unimpressed and kind of bored with that part. Also...it's so unsafe! What the hell? Charlie basically glanced around the island, deemed it safe, and then the girls were there all night long by themselves.

I hate when they spend the night on the island. So boring. I'm not interested in their ghost stories and them getting scared. Snore.
Edit: WTF is up with the bedrooms in this cabin?! They have like 90 bunkbeds in each one... why on EARTH did Watson's aunt/uncle (right?) put bunkbeds in like that? Who were they having over all the time?
