I was thinking about all of the times the girls fall in "luv" when away from Stoneybrook and wondered what ever came of any of the relationships. Obviously nothing but it seems like they always promise to keep in touch and often mention exchanging addresses. Do you think they ever do write except the letters at the end of the Super Specials? I know this is the way it usually works, though, about meeting someone, writing a few times, and then losing touch. Just thinking about this and wondered if anyone else considered it.

It does seem that they just forget about each other after the vacations are over. I agree that this is probably somewhat realistic, though, since they only see each other for a short time and usually live far away from the other person. The only exception to this that I can think of is the Jessi/Quint relationship. Aren't they mentioned as keeping in touch and even seeing each other again later in the series?
I also wonder about the Claudia/Laine relationship. At the end of Stacey's Mistake, they exchanged phone numbers and addresses, but I don't think that relationship really went anywhere either. I guess they could have been keeping in touch and it just wasn't mentioned. Laine was nice to Claudia until she decided she was too "mature" and "cool" for everyone in Stacey's Ex BF.

I often wondered about the super special relationships as well. One I always hoped would continue was the relationship between Stacey and Mark Kubacki ( I don't think I spelled his last name right but I don't have the book by me currently). I thought the relationship between her, mark and his parents was really sweet and cute.

I think Claudia and Will Yamakawa from SS #2 kept in touch; he's at least mentioned in SS #3.

Re: Claudia/Laine, the relationship for sure didn't go anywhere, because in Stacey's Portrait, in the chapter when Claudia comes to visit her in NYC, Stacey asks Laine if they ever did write to each other and Laine is like "No, were we supposed to?" Some of the friendships/relationships they make are intriguing like Claudia and McKenzie Clarke, Dawn and Richie, Mallory and her family in England, and I do wonder if they would ever make an effort to keep in touch. I always laugh at the end of Baby-sitters on Board when Mary Anne and Alexandra Carmody are exchanging addresses and Kristy's narrating and she's like "Yeah, I'm pretty sure Mary Anne will never write to her."

^ Laine's response just doesn't surprise me ;D (and doesn't make me like her any more than I already don't ;D). I also remember reference to Claudia and Will's relationship and agree with Msstock that I hope Stacey and Mark's continued. Wonder if it did. Also wonder if Kristy ever set Nannie up with the older man she befriended. ;D Makes me think of the book Karen's Mistake. ;D MA and Toby (though that wasn't from a Super Special) did at least continue through a few letters but I doubt it lasted after Sea City Here We Come. I always liked how they continued the Jessi/Quint relationship and wish they would have done it for more of them, though it made perfect sense not to.

I think they just added the relationships for plot purposes, but didn't really want them to tie in with the regular series.

^ Agree. Still enjoyed reading about them and maybe will just imagine that some of them might have continued. ;D

I thought Dawn & Richie were cute together, and I wished we'd have heard more about them. Claudia and Will made a good pair, too, I thought.

^ I really liked both of those couples. I especially liked how Claudia and Will talked about their close relationships with their grandparents. I wonder if Claudia ever contacted him again to talk about how she was feeling after Mimi's death since it seemed like he would be able to relate. Wasn't his grandma named "Tink"? I always thought that was cute. ;D

I wonder if Kristy ever kept in touch with her French-Canadian boy toy from European Vacation? I think they'd probably write to each other a few times before it fizzled out, as she seemed to really like him. I think it's cool that Jessi and Quint kept in contact (and visited) for a long time. Hooray for consistency! And it's fairly realistic too. When I was her age, I loved the idea of having pen pals and getting letters and such. I can totally buy them staying in touch for quite a while.

I love how Jessi and Quint remained friends. Other than that, I can't imagine the other girls really cared enough to keep in touch, especially Claudia and Stacey who had new luv interests every four seconds. Then again, I could also see Claud being super clingy and insisting she is in a long distance relationship

Not a Super Special but I liked that guy Kristy got along well with in Stacey's Mistake... I think he was called Coby and he was one of Stacey's childhood friends.
I liked Richie. It's a shame he never appears again. Although I find it a bit weird that he reguliarly visits Mr McGill...

^ I forgot about Coby. I really liked him, too, and was so mad when Claudia cut in on him and Kristy. It's too bad he never appeared again. It might have been interesting to have a Stacey/Kristy/Coby triangle. A Stacey/Dawn/Richie triangle in another book would have also been interesting.
