I just bought this from JB HIFI for on;y $19.95. The episodes are of poor quality and not in wide screen and no subtitles which makes it hard because I'm hard of hearing. But it's good to have the series on dvd.

You bought a bootleg copy. I think the days of stuff like this getting released on DVD are ending. There are some episodes on YouTube with subtitle options if you need them. Although I'm not sure how accurate they are. I just skimmed through an episode where Dawn said "yes, Mrs. Barrett" and the subtitle was "Yes I'm some ferret". That may be more entertaining...

It's not a bootleg copy. It's from an actual store called JB HIFI which have stores all over Australia. I kind of resent that remark that Australian stores sell bootleg copies.

Sorry, I can't find any info that it was officially released on DVD anywhere. Based on your description of the cheap quality and the fact that I have no clue what a JB HIFI is I assumed it was a bootleg copy. I also had no clue where you were located or that I was somehow dissing the integrity of an entire country by my comment. Enjoy those DVDs, though.

Seems like Australia is ahead of the game when it comes to BSC on DVD I got it too! Seems to have been released only in Australia and New Zealand, I posted about it in the Facebook group. It's a legit copy, brand new. I'd never seen it being sold anywhere else before, so had to snatch it up! I had no idea there was so few eps! Link here www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-shows/movies-tv-shows-on-sale/tv-childrens/baby-sitters-club-the-complete-series/341401/Apparently the people in charge of purchasing had no clue it would be so popular! Haha

I would say no since they'll be region locked (unless the DVD's were region 0, then they can be played on any DVD player).

In Australia anyway.

You could easily get a multi regional player for it

I’m guessing they just did a digital transfer without doing any kind of restoration. There are quite a few companies that do inexpensive DVD releases of older shows without them being nice, restored box sets with special features and things like subtitles. Australia and NZ are lucky to have these! (Those of us in the US can watch on Hulu.)

Hulu has many options, including a cheaper tier with ads and a free 30-day trial, so anyone *in the US* with good internet and a credit card does, in fact, have easy access to one of the most popular streaming services out there. It may even be on others, but that is the one that popped up when I googled to see.

I also have this on dvd but got mine from ioffer and it is a good copy, they don't sell them on ioffer anymore but think you can get them from other places online, I saw them on amazon not too long ago but don't think it was usa, think it was canadian and it was pretty expensive!
