If I were Karen, I would have stripped all my sheets and disinfected my mattress and room after Pamela slept in it. ;D
By the way, there are so many rooms in that mansion. If Pamela really wanted to sleep in a bed, why did it have to be Karen's?

^ Probably because Pamela was trying to be a pain. ;D Agree about changing the bed and disinfecting the room. Got a good laugh out of that, Karenbrewer, but you're right. ;D

Yeah...I don't think Karen would have objected to Pamela sleeping far away from her and her friends either Maybe Pamela was still scared and wanted to be near them even if she couldn't admit it (she did seem scared when they were all together in the playroom during the thunderstorm).

I loved the cover of the book and reading about them making cookies and eating Ricky, who totally rocked in this book, scaring the girls!

How did Ricky scare the girls? I remember him saying he was going to come to the sleepover and see everyone in their underwear. Karen was like "Oh, Ricky. *Giggle, giggle* You will not." Those two had way more chemistry than Mary Anne and Logan ever did.

The underwear thing scared them, though it sure is funny
And yeah they have good chemistry, I knew it from the start even when he was annoying in karen's school picture. As much as logan was clingy, mary anne seemed ungrateful and annoyed with him a lot.

Still, they were seven, and when you're seven, having your underwear seen by the opposite sex is a pretty frightening idea!

This is my all time favorite bsls book! The pizza on the cover looked delicious! I could not stand Pamela, such a brat! Then Nancy did not make the situation any better with her complaining about not getting an invitation. I'm glad that Karen and Nancy were friends at the end.

Leslie and Jannie seem to be much closer friends of Karen's than you'd ever have expected in light of the way they turn into minions of Pamela's.

I think they were nice girls. It was a small class and I'm sure they were friendly with Karen, Hannie, and Nancy, but following Pamela around changed them.

I think sophisticated Pamela introduced the girls to the world of cliques.

I agree, Pammy sure did change the class dynamics

Definitely. I think Karen, Hannie, and Nancy were a trio of best friends already but they were friends with the other girls. Clearly better friends with some than others (Karen refers to "a girl named Sara," for example) but they didn't appear to be cliquey at all.

^ I agree with everyone who said Pamela changed the dynamics of the class friendships. IIRC, weren't there only sixteen kids in the class? So small! Every class I was in back in elemetary school usually had an average of 30 kids. It seemed like after Pamela got there they kind of branched into little cliques. Karen and her friends vs. Pamela and her friends is already six of the girls in the class. Natalie Springer and whatever other girls were there kind of got left out of the cliques, I guess. Remember how they got into a fight with the cookie dough and Pamela didn't even move when a piece of dough hit her in the head? I always LOL about that.
