I thought somebody said in this thread that they could see the Ramsey’s moving back to Oakley. Did the series say why they left and moved to Stonybrook? I could see them wanting to be at a place where they are more comfortable because there are a lot of blacks people.

I don't think a ton were in their forties. Mrs. Newton, Mrs. Prezzioso, etc. seemed young. Elizabeth was 37. Plus it was the 1980s, people became parents younger. The clients' parents, yes, Booboobrewer I definitely also see many of them as younger than the BSC's parents. And yes, the series started in the late 1980s, but I still think of the BSC series as mainly a 1990s series since the bulk of the books were written in the 1990s. I agree that the Newtons, the Perkins parents and the Prezziosos were probably in their late twenties/early thirties, tops. And then again, Jenny, Jamie and Lucy and Mariah, Gabbie and Laura were small children...infants to kindergarten age. But I think the above question was mainly asking about after all the kids were grown and out on their own rather than when their kids were still school age and still living at their parents' homes. Richard and Sharon were 42? Even at 50 most people have another 15-20 years of working full time. True there, Sparklymouse...which is another reason I think few parents would uproot themselves and move far off. And yes, Richard and Sharon were forty-two years old when Dawn and Mary Anne were twelve. Those are two parents I definitely see staying put in Stoneybrook after their daughters are grown...they both have roots there. I thought somebody said in this thread that they could see the Ramseys moving back to Oakley. Did the series say why they left and moved to Stonybrook? I think it was because one or both parents were promoted. I could see them wanting to be at a place where they are more comfortable because there are a lot of black people. Sorry, Fairy3lf2, I don't see it that way...I don't buy the theory the Ramseys only want to be around other blacks. Once the Ramseys settled in, they seemed quite comfortable and happy in Stoneybrook and had befriended several others in Stoneybrook. With the exception of a few people...less than maybe ten out of hundreds of thousands...in the early books, their Stoneybrook neighbors had no problem with the Ramseys or with other blacks in the neighborhood or at SMS or SHS. I actually daresay that maybe more of the Ramseys' aunts or cousins may join them nearby in Stoneybrook after their kids are grown. I see the Ramsey parents staying put after their three kids are grown.

I could mainly see them moving I be close to family, the entire family lived on the same block. I could see that being something they’d enjoy being close to once the kids grow up,

While it's possible that the Ramsey parents may return to Oakley after all three of their kids are grown to be in close proximity to their extended family, it's equally possible that a few other Ramsey relatives could move to Stoneybrook, especially once they hear how happy the Ramsey parents are in Stoneybrook.
So...it could possibly go either way with the Ramsey parents after their kids are grown and after the Ramsey parents retire.

I’d there any client parents you could see leaving? I can imagine maybe Lisa and Seth leaving eventually.

Several perhaps...the Hobarts possibly...maybe the Sobaks and perhaps the Masters.
I definitely see the Brunos heading back to Kentucky.
Very possible that the Kilbournes may leave Stoneybrook after their kids are grown.

Lisa and Seth temporarily moved to Chicago, but then moved back to Stoneybrook. Who knows? They may very well wind up moving back to Chicago after they both retire and their kids are grown. I actually have the adult Karen living in Chicago in adulthood not too far from the Gold Coast. And since I have Kristy and Claudia living in Minneapolis in my timeline, Kristy and Karen see each other every so often.
