I changed my mind and bought it the other day -- after seeing it in person it was just too adorable :X

I still haven't gotten it yet, so I can't say whether I like it or not. It's kind of expensive isn't it? I guess I don't know what graphic novels usually go for, but it seems a bit steep if they're targeting kids.

i liked it simply on the basis of it reinvigorating interest in the series for a new generation of readers/

I liked it because it was more modernized than the orignals in terms of clothing. I also want to buy a 2nd copy and color it in. I'm 23.

^Once I read that, I knew I had to check your homepage URL to see if I recognized you from the LJ community!
That is a seriously cute idea, though.

OMG, yesterday at work I decided that I was going to colour in my copy, so I sat around all of today colouring in Claudia's fringe on every page. I think it's going to take a long long time to finish doing

I bought a copy and got people to colour in and sign at my 21st It's cooler than having people sign a key or something.

That's a cool idea, now I want to color a copy of the graphic novel!
Do you guys think people OTHER than BSC fans such as ourselves have bought the book? My 7 yr old niece did, but only because she sees me and my sister read BSC books, so now she kinda likes them, but do you think random little kids are buying it?

I think it's funny everyone wants to colour them in, I started doing mine too. I found mine in Kmart.. I enjoyed it mostly because I'd never got the chance to read the book Kristy's great idea (I'm still dying to find a copy).

So I finally got this. I mentioned before that it seemed expensive, but I guess it's not that bad for a sturdy hardcover. It was alright. Pretty entertaining, though I guess a lot of that is the book itself. The illustrations were interesting at times. I actually liked the houses more than some of the people. Like already mentioned, Watson and some of the others didn't seem quite right to me.
Just a nitpick: Kristy's supposed to be left-handed, but she isn't illustrated as such.

Kristy's Great Idea the Graphic Novel is the only BSC book that's actually displayed on my bookshelf in my room. The others--in the closet.
I loved the graphic novel and often check Raina's livejournal to see if she has any new pics of Book 2 (which incidently is Book 3, but whatever). She often mentions her work, but rarely posts pics.
Last time I ordered my book via Amazon since I was a little apprehensive of buying it at my Barnes and Noble (since Im there a lot buying, you know, more grown up stuff). However, my copy of Kristy's Great Idea came almost a month after it street'd. I think I might buck up and buy it in store this October.

Posted on this thread almost seven months ago and just now got around to getting this, yikes. I really did like it. Kristy, Karen, and Andrew, and Louie were too adorable. Janine, Boo-Boo and Morbidda Destiny cracked me up. The houses were totally nice, both inside and out. I'll pretty much have to see what The Truth About Stacey looks like now, for Charlotte, Lucy Newton, and Pete Black. Although it's been mentioned that Laine has short hair and freckles? Ugh - that is not Laine!

Yeah, I didn't like Laine. Not how I pictured her at all.

I haven't read these yet but the great thing about this is maybe if the graphic novels become popular, there may be interest to start publishing the originals again!
