^ I love that too with the playclothes. ;D I always wore dresses too just because I liked them. I even wore dresses when I rode my ponies until I was about 9 because I barely owned any pants. ;D Most of my dresses were knit and comfy, though. ;D Of course, I did have the dressiest dresses for dress up.... ;D

I don't think I wore jeans until I was a senior in high school. I had a few pairs, for jeans days and things, but I never really liked wearing them. Everywhere I went, I had a uniform, plus I've always liked dressing up. During the summer, I would either be at camp, or in a pool or on a beach. weekends it was always sports/lessons/practice/dinner... so no real time to throw on jeans there... and during the week it was always school uniforms and athletic wear.
I think it's cute that jenny doesn't have "play clothes". She reminds me of me. (now, not when I was four).

^ I really like Jenny, too. She was so sweet in a few of the books - like when Andrea is first born and when she gives Monkey Matthew to Dawn. Even when she was bratty, she was fun to read about. ;D

Gotta love Carters). Since we're "dresses-mostly" ladies here, play dresses of some kind are imperative for dd (as are choring dresses for me), as well as the nice ones. Now if only there were more nice play dresses in larger sizes...I suppose that's the advantage in her being little for her age, that it will be that much longer before I have to worry about finding modest clothes or making more of her clothes.

Yeah, I was appalled by one of my friends choices of apparel for her 2 year old. I get that bikinis are easier to deal with on babies then a one piece... but string bikinis? Really? I mean, what exactly is it covering?

my sister's favorite bathing suit (she lives in florida so she has a lot) is her only one piece... perhaps that should tell my stepmom something.

I started swim lessons when I was 6 months old, and was on a team when I was 7. I loved my one piece suits because I could play and swim and dive and go to water parks without having to worry about anything. When I was 10 or so, I was so excited to get a two piece, and the only thing I liked about it was that it was easier to go to the bathroom. I have a ton of one pieces and a couple of bikinis and I still like the one pieces withe a cover up, I think because it makes my boobs look smaller. At least I never had to have one of these suits: www.wholesomewear.com/page-4.html

that seems like it'd be very uncomfortable once wet.
remember when mary anne convinced richard to let her wear a sexy dress by saying it wasn't more revealing than a bathing suit?

Hahahah!
It reminds of Clueless: What's that? A Dress. Says who? Calvin Kline. Well, go put something over it! She goes and puts a see through piece of fabric over her shoulders. LoL.
I so wanted that dress.

Funny, there was a discussion about appropriate bathing suits for small children on another forum I'm on yesterday.

I believe it's in Mary Anne Misses Logan. I think she's wearing a T-shirt or a sweater over tights, but it could be a dress.
