They were both kinda annoying, but they were just little kids. I think they had a pretty good brother/sister relationship.

I used to be a Karen-hater, but now she's starting to grow on me.

I started off reading the LS books at about the age of 7. I could really relate to Karen at that age and therefore really liked her. Looking back now, she was a bit annoying i guess, she was just a kid though.
I just always seen Andrew as "Karen's little brother", I dont really have much an opinion on him.

^I feel the same way about Andrew. I don't think he ever got enough character development or story lines independent of Karen for me to care about him.

I used to always read the Little Sister books.
I loved Karen back then, but now that I think about it, she's kind of annoying. Her obsession with witches and stuff bugs me now.
I've always thought of Andrew as the most adorable little strawberry blonde boy.

Karen and Andrew always annoyed me, but they're starting to grow on me now that I'm a little older. I still don't care for the LS books, though.

Jadore_Histoire on BSC Snark made some reference to Andrew being like Ralph Wiggum that I thought was brilliant (also, I couldn't believe I had never made the connection before). I would like to read some LS books because it seems like they're good for a few unintentional laughs.

Jadore_Histoire on BSC Snark made some reference to Andrew being like Ralph Wiggum that I thought was brilliant (also, I couldn't believe I had never made the connection before). I would like to read some LS books because it seems like they're good for a few unintentional laughs. hahahah yes I knew that comparison would catch on! To me, Andrew is just like Ralph: Simple-minded, and follower of the crowd. Though I don't know if we'd see him eating paste and playing Wiggle Puppy! He seemed to always hate it when Karen made him be the dog in Let's All Come In. I used to like Karen, the LS series was what I started with. Now I can't stand her. She's a spoiled brat, and I don't like how two-faced she is to Natalie. She always has something snotty to say about her. I always felt bad for Natalie, everyone teased her because she was awkward and had droopy socks. What I don't get is how Watson AND the BSC are always enabling her. She'll be bossy, or drag the other kids into a game they don't want to play, or tell her story of Morbidda Destiny for the 2342nd time, and no one ever does anything. Every single thing she does is golden, she's always funny, cute, and imaginative. Check out the end of Mary Anne and Camp BSC for a prime example of this (it's one of the ones I snarked recently on the LJ community, so it's fresh in my mind lol). Karen and her friends spend the entire book being rude, pretentious snobs and call the BSC's camp dumb. At the dress rehearsal, they repeat their proclamation about how dumb the camp is, and manage to ruin all the acts by either not rehearsing what they're supposed to do, or making their own dangerous act because they think it'll be better than everything else. The BSC doesn't do anything about this, not even a "Hey, this is our camp and you've been nothing but rude and disrespectful to everyone here, including the sitters." Just a very very weak talking-to. Karen could dye Shannon bright pink and cut off all of Emily Michelle's hair and Watson would just shake his head and laugh. Sorry that got so long...it's so surprising how your opinions about characters change over time!

I think Karen and Natalie would be really good friends if Karen would give it a chance.

I think Karen felt superior to Natalie in both intelligence and social skills. I could see it as the type of situation where Karen would enjoy Natalie's company when it was just the two of them, and then forget about her in a larger group. And that would be unfair to Natalie.
I like the nice Karen/Natalie moments. Like in Karen's in Love, when Karen asked Natalie to play at her wedding because she knew she felt sad about getting so few V-Day cards. And on V-Day itself, Karen thanked Natalie across the classroom for the card she gave Karen, which made Natalie smile or at least feel somewhat better.

I just always seen Andrew as "Karen's little brother", I dont really have much an opinion on him. That's how I've always seen Andrew too. In Karen's Tattletale I really couldn't stand him, but that's the only book where I have an actual opinion about him. The rest of the time, he is just "there" so to speak. As far as Karen goes, I've always liked her. I read LS first before BSC and I just loved reading her POV on everything. Sure she had her bratty and bossy moments (like when she wouldn't let Nancy be in her kittycat club because she didn't have a cat or when she wanted Hannie and Nancy over to play with her every day of the summer because the Three Musketeers just HAD to be together) but overall I liked her. However when it comes to the BSC, I can't stand her. Her character there is way too spoiled and her whole family just put her on this freaking pedestal. Definitely reeks of Michelle Tanner. Plus, the Ben Brewer and Morbidda Destiny obsession was emphasized more here than in LS and it seemed that every time Karen was brought in, there were talks of one of those two things. It got old really fast and that's why my least favorite LS books are Karen's Witch (yes the first one but I read that one way after I got into LS) and Karen's Ghost because it talks about both of those things.

I like Karen. There are times when I find her to be a brat but I generally found her to be a good kid. I like her better in the Little Sister series, where she’s less of a brat. I don’t like how she writes in caps. Is that normal for a 7 year old?
As for Andrew… He seems like a cute kid but boring.
