The Perkins girls seem to be characters that people are really divided on - love 'em or hate 'em. I love them. I think they are sooo cute, I would LOVE to sit for them. I know it's totally unrealistic that Gabbie plays softball and they have a zillion "really long songs!" memorized, but still. They seem adorable and sweet. I love how Gabbie talks "Toshe me up!" and using first and last names. Myriah seems really laid back and sweet.
Do people dislike them just because they are supposed to be so perfect? I personally would choose to sit for the Perkins girls over the Rodowskys or Brewers any day!

I like the Perkin girls too! I love how Gabbie always uses first and last names. The girls seem really sweet. I know they are too perfect sometimes and good at too many things, but I like them

Technically they're good kids - and cute I guess - but too perfect for me. I don't find them interesting to read about, but if I was one of the BSC members I'd like to sit for them!

I wouldn't say I hate them, but they do bug me sometimes. It's not exactly because they're perfect, it's just little things that bother me. Though I do think it's clear that Ann puts them on a pedestal.

I love Gabbie and Myriah! They just seem so cute and lovable. Gabbie is too adorable with her "Toshe me up, Kristy Thomas!" and Myriah seems like a great big sister to her. I loved how excited they were when their mother was pregnant with Laura.
I think the reason they are so 'perfect' is because they're modeled after Ann M. Martin's best friend's children. Obviously in that case Ann isn't going to write something like, "Gabbie is a bit of a pill sometimes and still won't go poo in the potty, but we love sitting for her anyway!"

^Ha, exactly. There Ann goes again using stuff in her real life. I remember making fun of Logan's dad's name, then later I read some dedications "in memory" and it was her grandfather's name. Then I felt guilty.

Did the Perkins actually exist in the books beyond 100...I feel as though they jsut dissappeared at one point, and we never heard about them again.

I just finished Little Miss Stoneybrook...and Dawn. I like the girls in that one. I like talented, smart kids that aren't obnoxious. I would sooo choose them over many other clients.

That's why I liked the Perkins girls so much - they were so talented but not obnoxious. I haven't read a lot of the later part of the series. Really, they kind of disappear? How disappointing!

When did they disappear?! Actually, know that it's mentioned, it's true... Oh, but they'd still be there at Krushers things, wouldn't they? But I suppose the Krushers don't get mentioned much either, in the later books.

^ Yeah, considering how Kristy joins softball but I dunno. The Perkins. I never found them that interesting. They were cute but didn't have any quirks. Quirks is what makes people interesting to me. I dunno.

The Krushers still have their standard mention in Chapter Two, but there's never any Krushers practice or Krusher-based plots. It's never mentioned that Myriah and Gabbie have disappeared - as in, a reason was never given for it - but they just didn't feature anymore. Maybe because the kids they were based on were in their 20s and Ann felt weird writing about them as little girls?

I'm seriously disappointed that Gabbie and Myriah disappear! The Krushers on the other hand.. I can do without them! OOH, does Jackie Rodowsky also disappear? That would be nice..

Nah, Jackie's still around. He plays a big role in Kristy's Worst Idea! In all those later books (after 100), the charges aren't as important, I don't think.
