I'm not an only child, but my only sibling is much older than me so sometimes I felt like I was one, especically after she moved out. And my dad is an engineer too! You know what else I did? I did the same experiment that Charlotte did for her science fair in Jessi's Baby-Sitter - the plants listening to music. I thought it sounded so awesome that I wanted to try it for myself. My plants all pretty much looked the same at the end, though. No one type of music made them grow differently.

^That was an experiment kids were always doing for their science projects at my elementary school, and I always thought it sounded neat.

^ Did it work? I can't remember what the results were.

^ Maybe Scarlett stole the name from Charlotte. ;D It's funny how sometimes an actress or someone famous will appear with the same name from a book or somewhere else - purely by coincidence, usually.

Maybe her parents were secret BSC fans...

It says in Graduation Day that Charlotte's 9, but I assumed it was because she'd had her birthday - it mentioned somewhere that her birthday's in June, and I think that book was set around that time. Then again, some of the BSC members should have been 14 by then if that was the case. (Yeah, I know, BSC members ageing, but I figured if any book would do it, Graduation Day would.)

Charlotte turns 9???
She was 6 or just turned 7 in The Truth about Stacey. BSC aging stresses me out.

^ it mentions in several books before FF that charlotte is 9, (and in 3rd grade among other things) the ghostwriters were way messed up.

If she's nine, and she skipped a grade, she should be in fifth grade. She was skipped into 3rd grade when she was 7... so what happened to the next two years of her life? The later books really are a different series, aren't they?

She should've been in fourth and been in EIGHTH grade... ghostwriters kept screwing it up saying she was either in 3rd grade and 8 or 4th grade and 9... when us who knew better knew she was in 4th grade and 8. Argh, my head keeps spinning though trying to rationalize it. (though the age thing baffled me when i was younger as i turned 9 in third grade and 10 in fourth grade and most of the people i know did too.)

The ages of the kids who had supposedly skipped grades in the BSC always baffled me because they made a big deal out of things that didn't seem like a big deal to me. I started school when I was barely 5 (have an August bday) and there were lots of kids close to that age. Then when I skipped in 1st, I was at least a year younger while the kids they make a big deal out of in the BSC are only a few months younger, it seems. At least that's how it seems in some of the books. Basically, I've given up on trying to figure out BSC ages and just imagine them as whatever works best in my mind. ;D
