Speaking of Jamie singing, I love how he always messes up the words to songs. In Kristy and the Haunted Mansion he is so cute singing "somewhere over the rainbow, there's a pie" when Claudia's tye-dyed shirt runs all over her. Then I just read Kristy and the Mother's Day Surprise and he is adorable in that one. I've been laughing ever since about his versions of Home on the Range and the Trapeze song (which makes me smile anyway because my grandpa used to sing it to me all of the time as a kid - it was "our song" Jamie is so cute that I can't help but love him.

I find it amusing how traumatised Jamie becomes when the Babysitters Agency start sitting for him and how possessive he is of the BSC in other books... I could seriously imagine Jamie becoming one of those guys who hires a stripper dressed as a babysitter for his bachelor party ;D

^ Gross and funny all at the same time. What exactly does a baby sitter costume consist of?

Well scrunchies and slouch socks for one thing. Maybe a baggy shirt with leggings. The sitter/stripper would probably have an overall crazy artsy type look or a total tomboy look to her.

I agree with you. Jamie is adorable especially when he sings songs. I love kids that age, they are so cute, well most of them.

Or maybe I missed it. Who said it and in what book (or wasn't it actually said) so I can reread. Thanks I always look for an excuse to read about Jamie anyway. He was one of my first favorites and will always be a top favorite charge

It was in the Truth About Stacey when the Babysitters Agency were stealing all the jobs from the BSC and traumatising all the BSC clients such as Jamie and Charlotte, by not playing with them, not reading to them, doing their homework/studying instead, inviting their boyfriends over, having "accidents" (leaving cigarette burn marks on the couch), etc...

^ I remember the plot but was it actually said that Jamie and Charlotte were "traumatized"? I might have missed something but remember not thinking that the kids made that huge of a deal about it. I also would have been pretty upset if those kinds of sitters had watched me when I was a kid. Maybe I'll have to reread.

What was the book where Jamie would not go to sleep? For some reason, that question popped into my head this afternoon. Was it Mal Hates Boys and Gym? I know he was being naughty in that one and breaking crayons. Usually he's pretty good, though. I really like Jamie and he kind of reminds me of one of my little cousins - can be hyper but really cute and not a bad kid at all. I love how sweet he is to Lucy.

^ I am planning on reading that one soon so I will see. That always reminded me of some nights I had as a little kid - "but I can't go to sleep!" ;D Poor mom....;D
