Well, there are some individual posts about Pike kids, but as a whole, what do you think of them? I know a lot of people find them to be annoying, but I have never been bothered by them. Which ones do you like, which ones don't you like? I think they're all okay, except the bratty triplets. Nicky is a bit annoying, but it's hard to dislike him when you feel sorry for him! I love Claire, I think she's so cute!! Margo's cute, too, I like her relationship with Claire, she's usually so nice to her. Vanessa is a bit much, but whatever.

I like Claire, too! I actually don't mind her sily-billy-goo-goo, I think it's cute. I love one scene where she was upset for not having her way or something, she'd stick her tongue out, say 'silly-billy-goo-goo!' and run away. Loved that scene. I have no clue what book that is from, but I loved it. I liked how Claire wasn't a perfect angel.
I also agree Vanessa was a bit much. The poems got on my nerves, especially since they weren't good.
I felt soooo sorry for Nicky! Poor guy, being the outcast in your own family.

I'm with you guys, I love Margo and Claire, am kinda indifferent towards Vanessa, and can't help but feel sorry for poor Nicky. The triplets annoy me. For some reason Byron annoys me the most with his "sensitivity." I think it's great that they tried to give him an individual characteristic, but he just got on my nerves.
I really hate reading about sitting jobs at the Pike house, though. There's always some stupid play or big activity going on and it always bores me to death!

Yeah, the Pike kids are always up to something and it's irritating. I mean why do they always have to be playing Olympics or starting libraries? Can't they just watch tv or go outside and play basketball like normal kids?

I swear it's actually harder to park little kids quietly in front of the TV than it is to do activities with them. None of the kids I ever baby-sat for wanted to sit calmly in front of the TV for more than about five minutes; they'd rather be running around painting the dog or something. Okay, not that any of them ever actually painted their dog, but they totally would have if they'd thought of it. The Baby-sitters are so proud about not just plunking their charges in front of the TV, but I'm not really impressed by that.
It is irritating that the Pike kids are always up to something, though. Why is everything they do a major production? They could do more low-key things like shooting hoops or playing with toys or maybe painting the dog.
Although I should probably admit that I totally want to play that Secret Agents game with the Pikes.

^ Yeah, aren't we told that they are big readers? Yet, we never see them read when the girls are babysitting them. At least I haven't.

Oh their Secret Agent game seemed SO cool to me when I was younger. It still kind of does...
And lets not forget all the freakin plays and talent shows they put on on random Saturday afternoons.

And lets not forget all the freakin plays and talent shows they put on on random Saturday afternoons. those were sooo boring! I liked the Pike kids individually a lot more than I liked them as a 'clan' with some stupid projects. Don't they ever want some alone time (besides Vanessa, and Mallory of course, although I don't usually count her as a Pike KID)

Oh I always cringe when I sense a Pike Play or Talent Show subplot. They're just mind numbingly boring. I suppose all these activities are included to give the target audience (you know, preteens ;D ) inspiration to do something other than watch TV and play video games, but man, those plots are painful.
As for the Pike kids, I like them all except the triplets. They really don't have many redeeming qualities at all. My favorites are Claire and Margo. Those two seem really close.

am i the only one who doesnt like the Pike kids very much? i found them to be really bratty and annoying. i liked mal tho, when she wasnt whining about her braces or skin or glasses.
i felt sorry for margo cos she always got sick, margo was probably the only one i liked. oh, and nicky too because those triplets were so mean to him. vanessa had her good moments but the constant rhyme speak was so annoying.

Vanessa's intriguing. I think her character has potential, but in the books she's usually the lost Pike. Always holed up in her room and thinking up rhymes. Give her something more interesting to do.

ITA about Vanessa. She does kind of get lost in the shuffle, which is a shame, cause she's kinda kooky and interesting. I wonder how her friends feel about the rhyme speak?

I never saw her do the rhyme speak thing around, like, Haley--I think it was only around family members and baby-sitters and stuff.

The only Pike I really liked was Claire. I thought she was adorable...but I just found the rest annoying. The triplets with their "I'm so cool" attitude, Vanessa with her constant poetry, Nicky with his ackward "I'm the only boy left and the triplets are mean to me" and Margo was just boring to me. And Mal...is Mal!
