You guys are so spot on with some of this, IMO. I don't think Byron will be gay, FYI, i think he will be the more successful one.

^ I don't see Byron as being gay. I think he's just sensitive and sometimes straight, sensitive guys are just the ones who make good husbands and dads ;D (Just heard a romantic story from my aunt about how my uncle proposed and he's kind of a sensitive guy so maybe that's what is giving me this impression )

^ Oh my goodness I can't believe how that HUGE typo makes the sentence read!!! ;D ;D My uncle would kill me. ;D No idea where the sometimes came from. He's "always" straight ;D I'd probably better not modify now as it would be more confusing. Anyway, Byron reminds me sometimes of my always straight uncle ;D

Natalie Springer will be a little like me- sort of geeky and all who comes into her own once out of the world where she grew up.

Karen -- def. a "daddy's girl" who has to have the latest brand name stuff, a cool car at 16, highlights in her hair and makeup, but not a cheerleader -- she'll be in the National Honor Society and take the advanced classes. Basically, she'll be smart and popular and run for homecoming queen. But........I can't see her being genuinely liked, she'll always have that "I'm the BEST" air about her, but I can't see her being too snobby to anyone.
Claire -- very bubbly and plays field hockey or soccer or something. Editor of the yearbook. Shares a car with Margo, and they give rides to Suzy, since Suzy couldn't afford a car.
Suzy -- maybe a cheerleader? always passing notes in the hallways, dates a football player.
Jenny -- her mom will send her to school in the latest fashions and push her to be a cheerleader, while Jenny just goes through the motions.
Byron -- very artsy, editor of the school newspaper, volunteers after school -- maybe tutors or something.
Jamie -- captain of the soccer team, all around nice guy and very protective of Lucy.

^ I think that she will maintain her clumsy dorkiness but grow up to become the next Bill Gates or something.

I think Natalie will be really dorky and unpopular in high school and won't have many friends. But when she goes away to university, she ends up being really sweet and quirky with a lot of friends and dates a guy who's equally sweet and quirky.

I think Jenny will start rebelling against everything ladylike and proper...and her mother too. Her mother is just so overbearing and all.
Karen...I am not sure of yet, I haven't started Rereading my Karen Books, and I am going to be starting from book 1 again. <3 I had up to the Big Apple book, then I jumped to Karen's Toys and had nothing inbetween nor after the Toys book. I bought a bunch on line and other places and all. <3 so I do have a lot of reading to do. Wee.

David Michael - will be the kind of kid in high school who has a nice group of friends, plays on the baseball team, and maintains a solid B average. He'll probably go to a state university somewhere, major in business, and end up working for some large company. In other words, pretty nondescript, but, he'll be happy.
Karen - will be involved in every activity and club she can be in high school. She'll strongly believe that everyone loves her and thinks she's wonderful, while, in reality, most people despise her. She'll go to some private college, pledge a sorority, and learn a bit of humility during her pledge period. She'll bounce between majors, eventually settling on something like English or Communications.
Andrew - the nerdy kid who has one or two really close friends, but doesn't talk much to anyone else. He'll get straight A's, probably stay close to home for college, major in programming, and create some kind of social networking website (think the next Facebook) by the time he's 22.
Emily Michelle - probably will not be close to most of her family. I see her being one of those kids who is really close to her grandmother, and possibly Andrew, but not as much the rest of the family. Charlie, Sam, and Kristy will mostly be strangers. I also see her struggling a bit with her sense of self, especially since she'll always be aware that she's "different" from the rest of her family. Once Nannie dies, she'll have a hard time in school, and eventually going to community college.

Sarah Hill packs on the freshman 15 and then some when she gets to college, while Norman has slimmed down and is now on the HS baseball team. Jenny P turns goth to rebel against the years of ruffles and lace she had to endure. Karen is that loud, obnoxious girl in her class who thinks she's way cooler than she is, and doesn't have a lot of friends besides Hannie and Nancy. They all still hate Pamela and their little cliques are always snipping back and forth at each other.

I see Emily as really attaching herself to David Michael as well as Nannie, and he'd be the very protective big-brother type, intimidating her boyfriends and that sort of thing.
