They always kind of bugged me. They seemed really nerdy to me for some reason. I never liked Haley, partly because I always hated the name Haley. lol. But they always just seemed so BORING. And honestly, would a deaf kid really fit in that well with the neighborhood kids? Thoughts?

I kind of liked Haley in the first Jessi book when she tells her why she's so protective of Matt. But yeah, they were just kind of there. Was Haley supposed to be good friends with Charlotte and Becca? Who were Matt's friends? Nicky Pike? Since Jessi liked and sat for them often, I think that contributed to their boring-ness as well.

OMG, I hated the name Haley, too! And her "cool" haircut sounded like one that the smelly kid in my class had.

Yeah, I distinctly recall haley having "a chilly little tail in the back" aka a RATTAIL.

I always felt like a bad person for hating the deaf kid and his sister. But oh man, they were so boring. Ah, I hated them! They never really...did anything.

Haley was friends with Vanessa, Charlotte, and Becca. Oh and then with Danielle in whatever Jessi book that was where they tried to drive the car. Matt was really good friends with Buddy wasn't he? He hung out with him and Nicky a lot.
Edit: didn't it seem like all these kids knew an AWFUL LOT of sign language?!

Yeah, sometimes they seemed to have conversations with matt and sometimes they just signed "oven" when they meant "slide home" or something.

I'm surprised nobody really liked the Braddocks, although I'm not sure why considering I thought they were really boring, too. I agree that they seem nerdy. It was weird that Matt could be, like, bffs with Nicky and Buddy. I really doubt that little kids would be that interested in being friends with a deaf boy in real life.. Not to be insensitive, but really..
Haley always seemed really boyish to me. Maybe it was the awful haircut. I could never picture her as a Krushers cheerleader.
haha, I agree! Jessi and the Braddocks have got to be one of the worst combinations in all of the BSC books.

Matt was the only Krusher who could hit. They had to like him.

In the newer books with the Jessi scrapbooks in them theres a pic of them...what's up with Haley in the picture...the socks...the shirt tucked in...the fact she looks like a man. Maybe that's why she got along with Jessi.

Good point about the Krusher thing... I think they HAD to make Matt the best hitter, or what freaking purpose would he serve? I guess they wanted him to be more than the deaf kid. Then again, this is the team that allows Gabby Perkins to play with a wiffle ball, so who knows.
haha, I'm having trouble picturing Haley has a cheerleader too! Vanessa and Charlotte were the other cheerleaders, right? Where was Becca? Wow, those 3 are like the most random, unlikely cheerleaders ever.

I always liked Matt, I though he seemed like a sweet kid, but Haley bugged me. Between her "tail" and her personality, I dont know. Plus after the "Claudia and the Little Liar" book, I really hated her. She was so manipulative.

also her way of being "protective" of her brother seemed to be her threatening to kick the ass of any kid who looked at him the wrong way. I don't think that was really a good mention to send to kids, personally.

I didn't mind Haley, although that Secret Language book about Matt was up there with the most boring of the series.
When I was little, I had no idea how Haley was pronounced. I assumed it's like Hayley or Hailey, but I'd never seen that spelling before.
