I never liked Haley, either, because she sounded like an ugly boy, even her name sounded like a boys' name to me. And I didn't like Matt because he was just too much trouble with the signing and stuff. I really was very un-pc as a kid.

When I was little, I had no idea how Haley was pronounced. I assumed it's like Hayley or Hailey, but I'd never seen that spelling before. I'd always assumed it was "Hayley" / "Hailey". If I find out it was "Hal-ee." And I'd said it wrong in my head all these years, I'll be almost as crushed as realising "Myriah" wasn't "Mariah" and "Spier" wasn't "Spyer"

Myriah IS pronounced "Mariah," though, isn't it? I always thought it was "Myra." Somewhere in the middle I lost the extra i. I was very upset when I realized the Spier didn't rhyme with crier.

I haven't read the Braddocks' 1st book for a long time. There is 1 thing that always confused me. Did they move to Stoneybrook in that book, or did they move there from another neighbourhood?

I don't remember, maybe I'll get the book next time I am at the library.

I hated Hayley in Little Liar - couldn't even feel sorry for her. But I did feel a little sorry for her in Jessi's Secret Language. I liked her and Matt much better in this one than I usually do (though I don't even mind Matt much) and am not sure why. Maybe the ghost writers did to Hayley what they did to Dawn, which is why I dislike both of them in the later books. She just seems so strange in most of the subplots. Maybe that is because she's friends with Carolyn Arnold, who I can't stand.

Oh yeah, Carolyn Arnold who thinks she's so awesome and cool and that the BSC basically worship because she's a fashion conscious 8 year old

What book was it where Haley and Vanessa get in a fight cause they're wearing the same swim suit? That always made me laugh.

I always didn't mind Matt, because a part of me felt bad for him but Haley got on my nerves in the later books as well.

Haley always seemed so boyish to me, and the rat tail definitely didn't help!

I completely forgot about the rat tail! That annoyed me too!

Her hair sounded like it was close to mullet territory. Or at least that's how I always pictured it.

They were OK- they weren't my favorite charges, but they were original. I liked that Matt was deaf, and all the kids were respecting him and learning how to communicate with him. I just always thought that Haley was a brat that needed a better haircut and a new family- doesn't it seem like she always had to get her own way?
