So typical of twins in books and films, "We might look identical but we want to be individuals!" ;D Very true though and a good point... and although one wanting to be trendy and the another more conservative was very cliched, I love their shopping trip in Mallory and the Trouble With Twins A bit weird the way they played evil tricks on the BSC just because Mal said they looked cute though. When I read the books, even though the twins were described as having dark hair, I always pictured them looking like the Olsen twins when they were little! ;D What did you think of the Arnold twins?

I never really like them. Playing tricks on Mal just because she said they were cute? Mal couldn't have been the first one to say that their identicle lives were cute. And it was weird how they picked her comment and all the BSC to take it out on. It didn't sound like their mother knew anything about their misbehavior or put up with too much. And the tricks lasted so long and through several sitters. I always thought they were brats, even though they really only misbehaved in that one book.

I always found plots with the Arnold twins extremely boring. The trouble with twins was one of my least favorite books. It just kept going!

I never liked them. Not sure why, I guess their plots were just boring to me as well. Also was it Mrs. Arnold who would OD on the accessories and decorations according to the holidays? I hated that, it always sounded very cheesy and over the top.

I didn't mind them. I loved the shopping trip in Trouble with Twins - one of my favourite moments of the whole series. As for the rest of it... I'm about as indifferent to them as the rest of the charges.

I never liked the twins, either. They were such stereotypes of twins. My sister (hitzpink) and I are twins and seriously, I never got pissed at people for thinking we were cute or commenting on us being twins or buying us the same things. I figured it went with the territory. The only time it was annoying was if we were opening gifts and one of us opened it faster than the other and ruined the surprise, lol. I suppose it's also annoying to answer the same questions over and over and over for people, but it's not THAT bad. But these girls were SO dramatic. And even when they finally got to be individuals (seriously their parents forcing them to be EXACTLY the same made no sense to me!) they were still totally boring. I hate reading about Carolyn's stupid science experiments.

One thing I wonder about is where is Mr. Arnold? I don't recall him ever being around. He must've been sharing his wife's way of thinking to let the twins lives be totally identical like that. Either that or he's just whipped and doesn't argue anymore.

^You're right, I never thought about Mr. Arnold! It does seem like he's never mentioned!

Hey, wow! I never noticed that! Does he EVER make an appearance in the books? Wait, wait... in Dawn and the Surfer Ghost, when Carolyn sprains her ankle, don't both Mr and Mrs Arnold meet them at the hospital?

Mr Arnold makes an appearance in "Dawn's Big Move". He is being competitive with Richard Spier about what races they are going to enter for that stupid Stonybrook sports competition.

Yeah he enters the underwear race in that Run For Your Money event, wearing boxers with pictures of Garfield (I think) on them.

I always wanted to like the Arnold twins because I'm a twin myself, but they just bugged me. I did think it was weird that their parents made them be the EXACT same, but I also thought that was really contrived. I mean, my parents used to dress my sister and I alike when we were babies and occasionally when we were very young kids (until kindergarten I guess), but I can't imagine them forcing us to dress the same everyday, wear our hair the same, have each side of our bedroom mirror the other side, etc. That's just weird and unrealistic.
Also, one of the girls (Carolyn, right?) gets a MULLET! Her "trendy" haircut, remember? I forget how they described it...something like "it was cut shorter in the front and on top, and longer in the back." Yeah...that's a mullet! I think that's worse than Haley Braddock's rattail.
