I have just reread 'Jessi and the Troublemaker', and the mention of Danielle has given me an idea for a fanfic.
The only problem is that I haven't read any books after No105. I just wanted to check for any updates on Danielle. If there aren't any, don't worry. I just wanted to check before I wrote the fanfic.
Thank you.

I like Danielle a lot more after reading Jessi's Wish, maybe because I can relate to her. I didn't like her the first time I read Jessi and the Troublemaker since it seemed like she was using her cancer as an excuse for being bad. When I recently reread, I viewed it with a different perspective and am much more sympathetic towards her. While I don't totally agree with the book's presentation that she was so happy to be alive (full of energy), I think it might have been that she wasn't afraid to try dangerous things because she had come so close to death that she wasn't afraid of dying (even though she might not have understood this herself). I think this happens to some people who defy death. Now that I like Danielle more, I'm anxious to reread Jessi's Wish. Is she in any books other than these 2?

She was in Mallory Pike, #1 Fan. She was the lead in Mallory's play and she was still going through chemo.

That is one of the ones on my list to get. Now I'll have to get it for sure. I have only read it once, which is why I probably don't remember Danielle. Anyone else have any thoughts on her?

I was glad to see Danielle again in #1 Fan. I had forgotten that she was in it. I liked how she was a talented actress but was sad that her condition seemed worse in this one so was happy to know that Troublemaker came after because that meant that she went into remission. Was Danielle ever mentioned again after that one? With her acting skills, makes me wonder why she wasn't in Claud and the First Thanksgiving (or maybe she was and I'm just forgetting). Does she go to Stoneybrook Elementary?

^ That's what I thought. It might have even said she was in Becca's class.

I've not read Jessi's Wish in several years, since I generally try to avoid anything involving Jessi, but I remember being disappointed that Danielle didn't die. I must be a very terrible person.

Obviously. ;D The BSC timeline really is screwy. 80-82 must have taken at least six months, but they've spent how many school years being thirteen?!

^This is why the time warp can get so annoying. And why, in turn, I never liked Foxtrot (the comic strip.)

I remember really liking Jessi's Wish as a child. But now I think it's kind of boring and weird and I kind of wish Danielle would have died because it would have been more interesting. The other books with her in it are weird too -- I did like the one where they drove the car and slid down the steps home alone style.

The only comic strip I can think of where people age realistically is For Better or For Worse. I think almost all of them freeze people at one age. I love Foxtrot. ;D I always hated Jessi's Wish. I hate all the After School Special-type BSC books. I don't mind Jessi and the Troublemaker, but Jessi's Wish... yuck.
