I think I developed a fondness for them since one of the first BSC books I read was Kristy and the Missing Child (which I still consider one of my favorites). I really like all three kids - they seem really cute and sweet. They seem like good kids, too, and their subplots aren't usually annoying. I really liked it when the girls stayed with Stacey in Kristy and the Missing Child and really liked them all in Mary Anne Breaks the Rules. Wish they would have developed a relationship between Jake and Logan in other books. I would have liked it if the Kuhns were used more as charges. Anyone else like them? Also, does anyone know if there is a picture of the girls? I know Jake is on the cover of MA Breaks the Rules but don't remember the girls being on any covers.

I liked them, too, probably for the same reasons you do - they were in my first ever BSC book. I haven't read much other books with these kids in them, unfortunately, because I think they were mostly in later books.

The only time one of the Kuhns made an impression on me (beyond the "Cruddy Carrot"/"Fake Prune" exchange in one of the books when Jake fought with Buddy Barrett, because I still find that hilarious) was in Kristy Thomas, Dog Trainer, when Laurel is trying so hard to be nice to Deb (I think that was the blind girl's name) even though she's being a raging b*tch. She seemed like a sweet little girl. I'd have liked to get to know them better.

I loved that one! What book was that in? I might have to reread. Anyone know of any other cute lines from the Kuhn kids? I want to put them on my next sig.

I think that was the mystery where Jake goes missing, but I'm not entirely sure.

That exchange isn't from Kristy and the Missing Child, but I don't know where it's from.
I just read KAMC yesterday, and she mentions that Jake used to be chubby. Where did that come from?

I just read the book with the first mention of the Bashers calling Jake "fatso" (which is so mean!) in Kristy and the Walking Disaster. I hadn't ever pictured him as chubby, though, and still really don't. It's funny, Klaudiarulz, but I just read KAMC this morning. It's one of my favorites and the book that introduced me to the Kuhns and made me love them. I like the scenes with the girls at the Pikes and enjoy how Laurel trys to be so "grown up" and scolds Patsy and apologizes for her when she complains about the spagetti.

Yeah, I think there are several mentions of Jake being a little overweight. Walking Disaster, Missing Child - and Sea City, Here We Come, if I'm not mistaken.

^No. They also mentioned Jake being slightly overweight. I forgot which book I read it in.

I think it might be mentioned in Claudia and the 1st T-giving. I know that one of the girls sits for the Kuhn's in there. I like how mrs kuhn got pissed off at MA for having Logan over. They seem like one of the more real families in Stoneybrook.

i really like jake. he seems so sweet. but i didn't get much of an impression about the girls. they were mostly just "around" while jake had all the problems.
