valuemeal2 There's Tiffany Kilbourne, Shannon's little sister! She's a minor character, though. D'oh! I totally forgot about her, haha. Okay, I restate my comment as "I find it a little unbelievable that there weren't more duplicate names besides Ryan DeWitt", haha.

^I agree! There were so many characters in the books that I actually WANTED some duplicate names. It happened really rarely (like Mary T and Mary O in Mal and Jessi's cabin in SS#2).

Don't forget Sabrina Bouvier! But yes, I agree. Now, I get that having duplicate names (even first names) might confuse kids. But then they have the hundreds of extras rather than having fairly minor characters/families crop up a few more times - like, there are characters like the Ohdners and Benny Ott who're named but never actually play a role. Which defeats the purpose of not repeating names. I think they wanted to do a realistic job of having the Brook seem like a town by having as many characters as possible, but this causes Stoneybrook to have a weirdly large cast of extras *in addition* to the time warp and the '50s references (and then the 80s/90s ones later in the series). So, Stoneybrook is the TARDIS: bigger on the inside. Good God, I just compared a fictional town to... yeah, I think I need a life.

Is it just me, or are the Hills underused. I mean, I've read two books when they were mentioned. I'm not sure when they were introduced, but I have a feeling it was in book #50, "Dawn's Big Date". Anyway, I saw Norman being mentioned again in the last book (his testimonial for the club was that Kristy wouldn't give him a cookie when he begged and substituted carrot sticks), and Sarah was mentioned in one of the mysteries, but that was it. I liked some one-book clients, but the ones that come to mind wouldn't have called the club again anyway - the Lowells in "Keep Out, Claudia" wouldn't call, and the club refused to sit for them, anyway, especially after Mrs Lowell specifically asked for a blonde, blue-eyed sitter (Dawn and Stacey both refused). I also took an interest in the Cheplins from "Stacey McGill, Super Sitter" but Mrs Cheplin came to the conclusion that Stacey was too immature because she couldn't cope, even though only a full-time housekeeper could cope with all that work and babysitting. So she wouldn't call the club, since Stacey was one of the older members.

^i feel like they brought her in when they were doing talent shows and stuff. I also vaguely recall her getting into "playing detective" in one of the mysteries.
According to my own site, she is also in 85 (WSTO) and M13 (library).

My favorite one-time clients were the Nicholls. I mentioned this in another thread but I really wish we got an update on what Mrs. Nicholls ended up doing after they fled to New York.
The others were pretty meh to me. I preferred the regular clients, but was sad we saw less of some of them as the series progressed (like Charlotte, the Newtowns, etc).

Would the Salem twins be considered underused? They were in book 50 a lot, but I don't recall seeing them again, except mentioned in #97. Maybe it's just that they were both babies, and the ghostwriters thought they wouldn't be interesting enough. Plus there were other babies to write about with older siblings, like Laura, and Lucy, and even the two-year-olds were like that to an extent - Emily Michelle, Sari, Skylar (or was she younger?), Marnie...(I'm not counting Gabbie because she's pretty mature for her age in some ways).

According to my own site, she is also in 85 (WSTO) and M13 (library). She's also in (I think) #78. Jessi's trying to introduce Natalie to some new kids and Rosie was one of them - she and the Hobarts play kickball together, along with Jamie. This was pretty brief, since Natalie ends up playing with Charlotte and Becca instead, but there is a point where Rosie introduces herself and Natalie gets embarrassed when she takes a few steps back and nearly trips. In #85, she was on Claudia's radio show. Specifically, she was on the third one where she played a medley on the violin and talked about her commitments. The theme of the show was the one about how growing up isn't easy.
