Agree that the Hobart boys were a good influence

I messed up with the choice of Megan Farmer from Recipe for Disaster. Just reread and it was actually her brother Kyle who might need some help. He kept causing all kinds of problems and blaming Megan. All she did was let him blame her. Poor girl. He definitely had some issues, though.

I still don't like Zack. He was a complete jerk to James in Dawn and the Older Boy and I don't think the BSC should have encouraged that friendship in the previous book (Secret of Susan).

Agree about Zach. I don't like or trust him either.

I think there's a problem if a kid is just letting someone set them up to get in trouble over and over again and not arguing about it or defending themselves. I felt so bad for that kid.

Karen has some issues, or at least I am guessing she does, seeing some of the names of the books that I recently purchased. In some of the latter books, the adventures are seeming to be a little shy of a spoiled brat. But I could be wrong, since I haven't read them yet. :3 I'll reform an opinion once I read about her. >3

^ I know a lot of people consider Karen spoiled but I don't and really like her. I think she does have a difficult life, actually, with being a "two-two" (not that other kids don't) and she handles it quite well for being 7. That's what people never seem to remember - Karen is 7. They also seem to forget their "human" tendencies when reading about her because she's not a whole lot different than real people. She's just honest about her faults in the book. That's just my take on Karen, though. I know there are a lot of real "Karen haters" on here and I'm not going to argue with them. I will get too defensive of her. ;D BSC and LS titles don't always fit the books. ;D There's a thread on this, too.

Some Karen books I do remember her working for her toys, like the Doll Sisters. and she wanted Nancy to play with Hyacynthia and she shared the doll with her in the end. And she's very generous with her assets and all. So i hope her character still goes on to be like that in the end. :3

^ She was in Claudia and the Recipe for Disaster and I think she was about 7 but can't remember anything else about her. Actually, I think that I should have put her brother Kyle on the poll instead of her because he was just blaming her for the stuff he did.

wanderingfrog said : Yeah, I know you weren't saying Lou was bipolar, but there was a comparison there.
I've never actually met someone with child-onset bipolar disorder in person, although I've known a few online. I'm boring old adolescent-onset, myself.
But bipolar disorder is NOT funny! I have some loved ones with it and i hate when people make fun of it.

^ Um, I seriously hope you're not accusing me of making fun of bipolar disorder.
Which is not to say that bipolar disorder is never funny. Occasionally it is, although usually it just really, really sucks. But some of the stuff I've done, I have to laugh at it afterward, because it's much better than crying. It's called having a sense of humour. It is healthy to have a sense of humour, mmmkay?

Sure, that's cool. You don't have to find it funny. The overwhelming majority of the time, I don't find it funny, either. But occasionally I do, and I'm allowed to have an opinion. Frankly, I'm baffled that you seem to be admonishing me in a "wanderingfrog, don't make vaguely sarcastic remarks about your own illness" sort of way. Do you tell your loved ones who have bipolar disorder that they're not allowed to make jokes about it?
I'm not trying to be insulting. I'm honestly confused.
