That is what I felt too, I always felt that their was tension and unresolved issues at that house.

^ Agree. I think this created a lot of problems for and between the girls. They didn't seem like the kind of family to talk through their problems, either, which probably didn't help.

^ I agree, they dealt with their problems by getting themselves involved in things so they didn't have to think about their problems.

I agree with everyone. I think that the Kilbournes had the potential to be a really interesting family in the series, since we don't really see an unhappy but still-together family. All of the other families in the books are either happy or divorced and seperated. This is why I wish Shannon had had more than one book - it would have been nice to gain insight. I'm pretty neutral towards Maria and Tiffany, like some of you. I get the impression somehow that Shannon isn't really close to her sisters and doesn't know them that well, which is one reason why we don't. We know more about the other members' siblings because not only are they featured more, but the BSC members all seem to have close relationships with them. Since Shannon is always so busy, I can't really see her spending that much time with them. So I think that's one reason why they're under-developed characters. That's just my opinion, it really isn't based off of anything.

^ Well, you make a good point. It took Kristy to show Shannon that her sisters were missing her in the Sister War. I think I liked them in Shannon's Story - I think I remember one time about how Maria and Shannon were making up gross food or something on the bus? After reading about that I used to do that sometimes with my own sister ;D I also agree with the fact that there's a lot of tension in the Kilbourne household. I feel bad for her mom in Shannon's Story. EDIT: Forgot to mention that I now have a rather ... creepy mental image of Tiffany, after reading Shannon's Story, and seeing the cover ;D She kinda reminds me of ... an ogre

I really like Shannon, but Maria and Tiffany confuse me. In some books I like them, in some books I don't.

tiffany and gardening was very interesting though I would have liked to see her be into art as well when she was trying out all those hobbies
did anyone else notice that maria did not like swimming in one book and all of a sudden she's winning trophies?

She's both!
In book 11, she's 11 years old. Same age as Jessi and Mal who at that point were not members of the club. Tiffany was a babysitter, whereas Mal was only babysitting for her siblings with a BSC member.
Then suddenly, in book 70 she's 10 and being sat for. Arrgghhh. That's one of the bigger inconistencies in the series, I think.
Has anyone noticed how David Michael is the only one in the series to have aged more than a year? He was 6 in the first book, but certainly in some of the LS books he was 8.

I'm re-reading Stacey and the cheerleaders. It mention that Maria goes over to Brewer's house, to play with Karen. Did Karen ever mention in her book, she played with Maria? (I haven't read all the Karen books.)

Yeah, she plays with Maria sometimes. I think more so in the later books though.

I like Maria, she's shown up in a few LS books. And seemed to be a decent friend to Karen. Was she ever said to be friends with Amanda before she moved?
