^ I always kind of thought Hannie was cute - something different. Maybe came from Linny not being able to say Hannah and it stuck? My dad knew someone whose name she was known as even as an adult was "Sissy" because that's what her brothers called her and it just caught on and stayed with her. Reminds me of Beazus (like from nthe Ramona books...) My Grandpa's first wife (not my Grandma) was called "Sis" by everyone, but her name was Irene.

I am rereading Welcome to the BSC Abby and really like the Papadakis kids in this one. I think they handle the situation with Abby's asthma attack (which is scary) really well - Linny, especially. It's probably a good thing she was sitting for them instead of some of the naughtier, less responsible (or younger) charges. I thought it was cute how Hannie was begging Kristy to "make it better". I can see a kid her age reacting that way. I like these three and think they're all good, smart kids.

one of my grandmom now dead was called Irene i awlsy thinks it was a cool name! I had a grandmother named Irene, too! Her husband was Stephen, but for some reason, everyone called him "Butch." Now that I think about it, I think Hannie got off easy in the nickname department

I like Hannie, Linny and Sari... I thought they seemed like very realistic kids.

I just reread Worst Kid Ever and was thinking about that one and Welcome to the BSC Abby and the Papadakis kids are so well behaved and responsible. I really feel for them in Worst Kid Ever having to deal with Lou. Even if their parents should have known what they were getting themselves into with a foster kid, that wasn't Linny, Hannie and Sari's fault. I thought they were incredibly tolerant and put up with way too much from her.

Oh I felt bad for them too in Worst Kid Ever. They're such diplomatic, patient kids. I really like them.

I have a question about the foster kid. Does she ever show up again after #62?
On that same topic, don't you usually get another foster child after one leaves? And another after that? My parent's friends did foster parenting and they came and went a lot. Some of them ended up being adopted, but some left. I really didn't know that you could get just one. Wouldn't the social worker try to push for more? There are a lot of kids who need stable homes.

^ Lou shows up again in Abby and the Best Kid Ever. Can't remember what # but it's a high one. As for being foster parents, agree there are many kids in need but maybe the Papadakises saw it wasn't going to work out for them and was too much strain on their own kids, etc. and said they couldn't do it anymore. I always assumed that's what happened.

^ I haven't read Best Kid Ever - why does Lou come back?
As for the Papadakises not taking on any more foster children, I agree that they may well have felt the situation was going to impact on their other kids too much. I do think, however, that the book should have made this clearer - it didn't really give out a very positive message.

Lou's aunt and uncle move back to Stoneybrook with her and her brother, Jay. The BSC sits for them a few times and they are involved in the documentary project Abby does. I think it's book #116 (I couldn't remember and did look but already forgot ;D)

I guess I never realize that Linny is two years older than DM but that does make sense because Hannie is the same age. Abby and the Mystery Baby pointed this out but I’d never thought of it before. They kind of seem like they’re the same age to me. Is Linny a Krusher? I think he is but can’t remember for sure since it’s been a while since I’ve read a Krushers book.

^ Thanks. I'm pretty sure he is but I think it's time to read a Krushers book. Maybe that will get me in a summer mood even though it's definitely not summer weather here. ;D
