Aww . . . I liked how they took revenge on her. I like it when they act immature. ;D True, it's sometimes nice when they act like real thirteen-year-olds...though it always feels kind of weird since they're normally super-mature. Like other people have said, I always kind of think of the BSC as being 16, because their general attitudes and behavior make more sense that way. I felt bad for Betsy, though, I don't think she ever MEANT to hurt anyone, and the last trick they played on her was really mean.

^I don't think the trick the BSC played on her was any meaner than what she did to Claudia.

^I don't think the trick the BSC played on her was any meaner than what she did to Claudia. Her intention was to make Claudia look silly. Their intention was to scare a little kid into thinking she'd been abandoned at a movie theater. Personally I think what they did was much meaner.

^ They are the "adults" though. They shouldn't stoop to her level but should try to teach her and should set a good example.

^ I agree, kind of. I did like reading about the pranks, but at the same time, it just struck me as weird when the BSC ever did anything 'mean' to any of the kids they were babysitting. I was always shocked, lol (shows you what kind of childhood I had )

still...its not the BSCers fault...if betsy hadn't played tricks, then BSC wouldn't have. they had to teach her a lesson..if she wouldn't stop even when her mom and most of the BSc members told her then...would would YOU guys have done?

I wouldn't have baby-sat for someone who broke my friend's leg. Once her mom realizes that she can't get anyone to watch her kid, she'll put Betsy in therapy, where she belongs. Betsy didn't even seem remorseful.

^ Agree about Betsey not being remorseful, penny lane, and not sitting for her again. If I had no choice but to be around a kid (I sometimes prefer not to deal with them because then I don't have to be the "adult" but when they are around, I should be....) then I wouldn't stoop to childish pranks but would try to set a good example - no matter what I wanted to do. Maybe this is something you have to be an adult to understand..... ;D

^I agree. I don't think they should have ever stooped to her level. You can show her that things are wrong without being mean. I am surprised she didn't understand how wrong she was after she broke Claudia's leg! It surprised me as well that they did, but it is like when Kristy told the Feldmans that they needed to be quiet and that one wrong move and she would knock their lights out! I am sorry, but if my child told me the babysitter said that to them, I wouldn't be using them any more. Maybe that is why the Feldman's never returned.
Betsy needed to be taught a lesson, but there are OTHER ways. However, the BSC's way made for a fun read and got the job done.

Since I don't like pranks and find them kind of stupid, I didn't really like the pranks in this book. But I can see how others would. ;D I do wish they would have addressed Betsy's issues more in First Thanksgiving instead of just seeming to forget that this book took place....
