it would have been nice to know that the kids that the bsc sat for werent all stepford kids, dont get me wrong all kids should have manners but it does add more to spice to the stories those babysitters should learn that they arent gods gift to stoneybrook lol, in their business there is bound to be some brats

I think the phrase "poor little rich kids" sums up Amanda and Max nicely!

I wish they hadn't moved away, I thought they were way more interesting than the Kormans. I mean, we already had the Papadakis' for the family with the large house, three kids, and not acting like millionaires. Doesn't everyone know an Amanda and Max? The kids that brag about their possessions because they don't really have much else? I know I did, and sometimes, they were even fun to be around. And besides, if they really were so wealthy, why did their parents hire the BSC and not a professional sitter/nanny?

^ Agree about Delaneys being better than the Kormans. I never liked the Kormans but I "loved to hate" Amanda and Max and always got a good laugh reading about Priscilla the expensive cat. ;D

Yes, Priscilla the Expensive Cat is hilarious. Even more hilarious when I think of how my neighbors dog cost ... lets see (doing math)... 8 - 10 times more than that, plus a plane ride from Australia, and I only heard about it once, from my mother. Not their kids or them. Even though I did baby-sit for them on a regular basis. They were much more interested in catching "Fairly Oddparents" then telling me how much their dog cost. (For the record, it's some sort of designer hypoallergenic mix. One of the kids was a real live "Hunter Bruno". We lived in a regular neighborhood, not Watson The Millionaire's side of town).
Maybe my love of the Delananys comes from my hatred of the Kormans. I would NEVER, EVER, take out tennis courts that were already installed and kept up to put in a freaking garden. You can fit your garden anywhere. Tennis court time is hard to find, unless you have a membership to a country club. And come on. Your kid is scared of a fountain? And she can't say cat properly? Isn't she the same age as Gabbie the Wunder-child who plays softball?

Skylar's speech seemed pretty reasonable for a toddler, but the fear-of-the-fountain thing seemed kind of silly. I guess you never know what a kid will be afraid of, but I can't believe she wouldn't have gotten over it after a while...I was always afraid of something or other as a kid. It rarely lasted very long.

Wasn't Skylar just a baby? I always got the impression that she was about a year or less - definitely not as old as Sari or Emily, who were 2. Maybe that's just how I wanted to see it though. ;D

^Agreed. i always thought of Skylar was only one or maybe a teeny bit older. 18 mos at the most. I could be wrong, though. I def do not think of her as the same age as Emily, Sari or Gabbie (Gabbie was closer to 3 than 2, right?)

True. They were different than the "perfect" children of Stoneybrook. It's kind of like Jenny Prezzioso.

I like the variety of kids and didn't mind most of them, even the Delaneys. I can relate to them since I knew some real life Delaneys. ;D I think I liked them a lot better than the Kormans who have some of the oddest, most annoying plots (the cat thing and toilet monster ;D).

I know I've said this before, but I really wish they would have kept the Delaney's around. They were much more interesting than the Kormans. There was already a 3 child family in Kristy's neighborhood. Why change it up? Was it just so Karen could have a friend move away? Why not her friend who's mom had a baby? That girl annoyed me. Karen was closer with her anyway, right? And Karen and Amanda being friends was kind of weird too - wasn't Amanda older?
But most of all, I can not forgive the tennis court thing. That is a mortal sin in my book.

^ Nancy Dawes is Karen's friend you're thinking of who lives by the little house. That could have been an intersting story having her move but I'm glad they didn't because I really like her. As for the Delaneys moving, maybe the writers ran out of story ideas for them and thought they might be able to come up with more intersting ones (the toilet monster is certainly... interesting ;D) I didn't think it was so weird for Karen to be friends with Amanda because Amanda was only a year or two older and almost all of my friends were at least a year older when I was Karen's age. I wouldn't have chosen to put in a garden but wouldn't necessarily have kept the tennis court since I don't play tennis. ;D

It makes sense to me that Amanda and Karen would be friends if they lived so close to each other. I think a lot of times kid just sort of make friends based on whoever's nearby, since they can't just go wherever they want whenever they want.
And if I had a house that came with a tennis court, I'd learn to play tennis ;D Can't imagine ripping it out for anything. But then, I don't garden, either...
