^Haha, me too aln! I like that! I will have to use that when I am having a clumsy week as an excuse. "Oh it just must be one of my Jackie weeks." I can just imagine what my boyfriend or mom would say in reponse.

^ ;D My mom knows what I'm talking about but always thinks Jackie is a girl because that's my best friend's name too. ;D Of course, Dad makes the connection right away since he's actually read Walking Disaster (yes, I've "made" my dad read the BSC ;D) and knows he can really relate to Jackie Rowdowsky. ;D

When I was little I was so confused about Jackie being a boy. I had a friend and an aunt named Jackie and it just didn't make sense. (I also have a cousin, female, named Jordan, but she wasn't born until after my BSC days) Why didn't they just call him Jack? To this day I still haven't met a male Jackie.

I wonder if his name being Jackie spelled like that is why so many of the girl Jackies in the book were spelled with a "qui"

There were just two, I think. Many of the boy charges had the "ee" sound to their names...Jackie, Timmy, Linny, etc...and then you have Bill Korman

I have many Jackie days! I am a total klutz. I have soooo many that I could name, but I'll just tell you one particularly embarrassing one: It was at the Christmas concert at my school. I think I was in grade 7 or 8. I was walking down the stairs to go to my classroom to wait for our turn to perform in a play, when I tripped in my clogs. I slid down the stairs, broke a strap on my shoe, and someone was watching as I fell so he yelled out to all my classmates to come out. I stood up with my broken shoe - oh, and get this - I was wearing a velvet dress and it was kinda tight, so when I slid down it basically rolled up, so I was standing there with my dress rolled up in front of all those boys with my underwear showing, and turning red as a beet as I tried to fix it. Oh boy. That was fun. And to top it all off, my friends mom asked me if I was okay, and I told her I was. "All you hurt was your pride?" she asked. I misheard her. "No, I never cried."

Ouch. I would have cried if that had happened to me when I was that age.
